RESOLUTION IN RECOGNITION OF CHARLES COLEMAN
''PCN RETIREMENT FROM
BUTTE COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF EMPLOYMENT AND SOCIAL SERVICES
WHEREAS, Charles Coleman, Social Worker Supervisor of the Department of Employment and Social Services
(DESS), has announced his retirement effective May 25, 2018; and
WHEREAS, Charles began his career with the County of Butte on November 23, 1987 as a Social Worker I and
successfully moved up the career ladder to Social Worker Il, III, IIV, and to his current responsible position as a Social
Worker Supervisor in the Adult Services Division since 2014; and
WHEREAS, Charles has devoted his career to assuring that elder and disabled adults were safe and families in
our community were served in a caring and professional manner; and
WHEREAS, as a Social Worker and Supervisor, Charles dedicated himself to providing excellent customer service
to staff and the families served, and valued the role of educating and empowering staff to provide the highest quality of
work; and
WHEREAS, Charles provided training to new social workers, mandated reporting training in the community, and
participated on the Multidisciplinary Team for Adults; and
WHEREAS, Charles has devoted his career to improving the lives of families and seniors in our community
through his tireless focus on meeting their needs through his work, community outreach, and training; and
WHEREAS, Charles has worked diligently for the past thirty years and six months in the best interest of Butte
County and its citizens, earning the respect of his DESS colleagues, employees, and the many families he served over the
years..
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board, on its own behalf and on behalf of the citizens of Butte
County, extends its appreciation for your many years of dedicated service.
