AN INTERIM! ORDINANCE ZONING A PORTICtN OF THE
COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AN "S-R"
{SUBURBAN-RESIDENTIAL) DISTRICT
1 The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State
2 of California,, under and.pprsuant_ to Chapter 24-30 of the Butte
3 County Code, and declaring an emergency, DO ORDAIN as follows:
4 SECTION 1. The hereinafter described area situated in
5 the County of Butte, State of California, shall be and it is
6 hereby zoned as an 'S-R" (Suburban-Residential) District for a
7 period of 120 days, and such area shall be subject to the restric--
8 bons and restricted uses and regulations hereinafter specified
9 and nravi ded.
Zo Said area so zoned being located in the unincorporated
lI area of Butte County, Chico, mare particularly described as
12 follows:
13 That portion of Lots 9, 10, 11, and 12 located
east of State Hwy 99, and all of Lots 13, 14, 15,
34 and l6 of "Esmeralda Tract" per Map of Record
in Map Baok 1 on Page 33 of the Butte County
15 Recorder.
16 -Lots 1, 2, 3, 18, 1~9, 31, 32, 36, 37, 3$, 39,
and 40 of "Hobart Sub" per Map of Record in N1ap
~~ Book 4 on Page 24 of the Butte County Recorder.
18 That portion of the westerly 2l0 ft. of Lot 13
~~ of said "Hobart Sub" located south of and within
125 ft, of the south right-af-way line of San
20 Gabriel Drive.
21 That portion of Lot 14 of said "Hobart Sub"
.described as: Beginning at the mast southerly
corner of said Lot 14; thence N 37° 2O' ~ 235
22 ft.; thence N 52° 2O' E 330 ft.; thence S 37°
23 20' E 11.24 ft.; thence N 52° 2O' E 163,0 ft.;
thence northwesterly along a curve concave to
24 the t~rest havfifng a radius of 200 ft. to a point
which bears S 52° 40' 4~! and is 147 ft. distant

Railroad right-of-way.
All that portion of Lot 41 of said "Hobart Sub"
located south of the north boundary of "Frontier
Village Sub" per Map of Record in Map Book 38 on
Pages 76 and 77 of the Butte County Recorder.
All of Lot 42 of said "Hobart Sub" excepting
therefrom the following described parcel: Beginning
at the southwesterly corner of said Lot 42; thence
N 37°41' 40" ~ 966,2 ft.; thence ~! 73° 16' 30" L
812.4 ft.; thence S 22° 42' 30" E 709.4 ft. to a
point on the southerly line of said Lot 42; thence
S 53° 14' 1~ 590.4 ft. ta.the point of beginning.
All that property bounded on the north by Lots 29
and 40 of "Hobart~Sub" per Map of Record in Map
Book 4 on Page 24 of the Butte County Recorder on
the east by Cahasset Road, and on the west and south
by Lots l9 through 37 of "Hacienda Oaks Sub No. l"
per Map of Record in Map Book 24 on Pages 9 and
10 of the Butte County Recorder and "Hacienda
Oaks Sub Na. 2" per Map of Record in Map Book 35
on Page 84 of the Butte County Recorder, and also
bounded on the south by Parcel 1 of that Parcel
Map recorded in Map Book 44 on Page l of the Butte
County Recorder.
The N2 of Lot 2 of "Bidwell 17th Sub" per Map
of Record in Map Book 7 on Page 67 of the Butte
County Recorder.

SECTION 2. REGULATIONS FOR AN "5-R" DISTRICT.
The following regulations shall apply in an "S-R"
-__. -
District.
(A} USES PERMITTED:
1. One single-family dwelling per parcel; not
including tents or mobile homes.
2. Accessory buildings pertinent to the permitted
uses ,
(B) AGRICULTURRL USES, EXCEPT LIVESTOCK, SUBJECT TO THE
FOLLO~IING REQUIREMENTS:
1. Exclusive of the area devoted to the residential
use, the following lot or parcel areas shall be
required for each animal raised or kept on the
premises:i
(a} For each horse or head of cattle over one
xear of age, one (l} acre.
{b} For each head of swine over ten weeks of age,
one (1} acre,
(c} For each head of sheep or goats, one (1} acre
for the first head and one half {l/2} acre
for each head thereafter.
(C} THE FOLLOWING USES SUBJECT TO SECURING A USE PERMIT
IN EAC~t CASE:
1. Public and quasi-public uses, including churches,
hospitals, parks and playgrounds, schools and
public utility buildings.

(D) THE PROVi5IONS OF SECTION 2~-33 SHALL APPLY.

SECTION 3. All uses of land within the district not
specifically authorized and permitted are prohibited.
SECTION 4. In compliance with the provisions of said
Butte County Code, Chapter 24, the same is hereby amended by
adding this ordinance in full.
SECTION 5. The penalties for the violation of the
zoning hereby imposed within the district shall be as provided in
the Butte County Code, Chapter 24, this Ordinance shall from and
after its effective date become a supplement to and part of the
Butte County Code, Chapter 24.
SECTION 6. This urgency ordinance shall take effect
immediately upon its passage, and before the expiration of fifteen
(15) days after its passage shall be published once with the names
of the members of the Board of Supervisors voting for and against
the same i n the Chico Enterprise Record a newspaper i n
general circulation in the County of Butte, State of California.
The facts constituting the urgency on which this Ordinance is
based are:
1. To protect the .health, safety, and welfare of
the publ i c .
