RESOLUTION HONORING RUTHMARIE FERRIS FOR HER SERVICE TO LIBRARIES
WHEREAS,the Board of Supervisors established the Butte County Library Advisory Board in 2002, and Ruthmarie
Ferris was appointed to that body in September of 2002, continuing her service until her resignation in April 2018; and
WHEREAS, Ruthmade served with distinction and foresight as chair of the Library Advisory Board for several years;
and
WHEREAS, she was a driving force behind the giving brochure initiative and a founding member of Love Your
Library, and
WHEREAS, she regular wrote enlightening and enjoyable library columns for the Chico Enterprise-Record; and
WHEREAS, Ruthmarie has been an active library advocate for many years, supporting the library by her actions
and with monetary contributions;and
WHEREAS, Ruthmarie has also served as President of the Oroville Friends of the Library for many years and chaired
their book sales.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors hereby expresses its sincere
appreciation to Ruthmarie Ferris for her years of unselfish dedication and outstanding service rendered to the library and
to the communities and residents of Butte County.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this Stn day of October, 2018, by the folllowing
