G r l / r „��..,, 1 ,, f / r .,,. r. r r, ,rr✓!/a., ,, ,r , ✓ / / r rr r, /r i / r ,r / l �- rr IN;,),.,, �, 1, rr r ✓ // (,, { r / r r lr r � r,,„ g 'r. lq,r. ,. r ,.r.. r,�✓,r�,/r „r r .; ,,, f/.l.r „r, rr r r/rr. ./. , 1 . / Grr1r r, r r�.r rt,r/r „f ,/, rli ,i ✓/,, ,�0/ r ,. ar7,rlro,ril, /I. r/,,, r ,.x, r..,,,,. ,,r. ,. �,/rf,✓,/.,/r, r,r,,.r G/, /,,,. /,,. ,r ,rr/ ,r,., r. ,r . � //r?,,, ,r r f 1 l r r l,. •a /. 1... -/ /., ,I,. rrr. ,r/ / ,r / / ,r r ✓/ r � e, r r ru / l r (i /, / r / ✓ 1� // ✓ r % / /r/ / ti rr l /r Resolution No. 18-179 RESOLUTION IN RECOGNITION OF PEGGY MOAK UPON HER RETIREMENT FROM THE BUTTE COUNTY TREASI.URER-TAX COLLECTOR'S OFFICE WHEREAS,Peggy Moak,Treasurer-Tax Collector, has announced her retirement as of December 28,2018; and WHEREAS, Peggy began her career with the County of Butte on March 1, 2004 as Manager of Finance and Investment in the Treasurer-Tax Collector Department, bringing with her the knowledge and experience gained during her 30+ years of management, investment, and lending experience in the financial services industry, which included earning the designation of Certified Financial Planner; and WHEREAS, Peggy served as Assistant Treasurer-Tax Collector for 5 years prior to her appointment to Treasurer-Tax Collector in February of 2014, and subsequent election in.lune of 2014; and WHEREAS, Peggy has been instrumental in the issuance and administrative responsibilities of County and School notes and bonds, always with an organized,thorough and analytical approach to ensure accurate documentation, collaboration with all interested parties, and pricing and structures beneficial to the interest of the County and its citizens; and WHEREAS, Peggy has overseen the Treasurer's Investment Pool with integrity and transparent management practices designed to protect the public's money and ensure adequate cash flow liquidity while earning a yield that has consistently ranked) in the top 10 counties in the state; and WHEREAS, Peggy believes that collaboration between departments and the entities served by her office are of the utmost importance and that the spirit of cooperation and collaboration has led to rewarding relationships and enhanced services; and WHEREAS, Peggy's practical and even-handed approach and concern for the welfare of the citizens of Butte County has shaped departmental and statewide policies to better serve the public, including a watchful eye for opportunities to provide assistance to senior and disabled taxpayers, to maintain the successful Victim Restitution program and to effectively pursue legislation at the state level to invoke regulations protecting the interests of taxpayers; and WHEREAS, Peggy was recognized by the California Association of County Treasurer's and Tax Collectors with the James S. Kennedy Distinguished Treasurer-Tax Collector Award 2018 for her many contributions to the educational, organizational and legislative efforts of the organization; and WHEREAS, Peggy has willingly and actively served on numerous County committees, including; Support Services, Finance, Audit, Debt Advisory, Benefits Review, 457 Deferred Compensation, and the Federal/State Land Use Coordinating and Forest Advisory Committees; and WHEREAS, Peggy believes that the Department's greatest resource is its dedicated, knowledgeable employees who work hard to serve the publlic, provide friendly and helpful customer service and work together as a team to do the best job possible a,nd have fun while they're at it; and WHEREAS, Peggy has many times expressed her gratitude and appreciation for the opportunities and supportiveness provided by her Treasurer-Tax Collector Team,fellow department heads, County Administration and the Board of Supervisors, and her conviction that the greatest reward of all is believing one's actions have benefitted others, whether on a personal, work-related or community basis. NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board, on its own behalf and on behalf of the citizens of Butte County, extends its appreciation for her vision and dedication in meeting the management needs of the Treasurer-Tax Collector Department as well as the overall needs of the County departments, schools, special districts and citizens of the County of Butte for responsible, accurate and timely money management, and generation and collection of revenues.
