HomeMy WebLinkAbout18-182 k r / / i. , i...., , ,.1.� ✓ ,i 1, ,i i ,.. / / /, / , ,.,, ! / / 1 y% x✓ /, , � 1, a i 1 i . yi /, /, i ss a Resolution No. 18-182 RESOLUTION RATIFYING THE WAIVING OF CERTAIN CLERK-RECORDER,ASSESSOR AND LIBRARY FEES FOR THOSE IMPACTED BY THE CAMP FIRE WHEREAS,the Chief Administrative Officer of the County of Butte proclaimed the existence of a local emergency within the County of Butte on the 8"' day of November, 2018; and WHEREAS,the Board of Supervisors approved a resolution ratifying the proclamation of a local emergency for the Camp Fire on the 13'day of November, 2018;. and WHEREAS, 13,696 single residences, 276 multiple residences, 528 commercial and 4,293 other buildings were destroyed as a result of the Camp Fire, as reported by Cal Fire on the 25th day of November, 2018; and WHEREAS, 462 single residences, and 1.02 commercial buildings were damaged as a result of the Camp Fire, as reported in the Camp Fire Incident Update on the 25`h day of November, 2018; and WHEREAS, vital records, property documents, and library property have been destroyed or are inaccessible for individuals evacuated and impacted as a result of the Camp Fire; and WHEREAS,vital) records, and property documents for individuals evacuated and impacted as a result of the Camp Fire are required to apply for disaster recovery assistance; and WHEREAS,the Acting Governor of California issued a proclamation of a state of emergency suspending State fees for copies of certificates of birth, death, marriage, and dissolution of marriage records, by any individual who lost such records as a result of the Camp Fire, on the 81' day of November, 2018; and WHEREAS,the Board of Supervisors adopted the Butte County Master Fee Schedule by resolution on the 24th day of March, 2009, and has amended the Master Fee Schedule overtime; and WHEREAS,the Clerk-Recorder of the County of Butte requests a waiver of County fees for copies of certificates of birth, death, marriage, and dissolution of marriage records for individuals who lost such records as a result of the Camp Fire; and WHEREAS, the Clerk-Recorder of the County of Butte requests a waiver of County fees for recorded property documents for individuals who lost such records as a result of the Camp Fire; and WHEREAS, the Assessor of the County of Butte requests a waiver of County fees for appraisal records and file copies, and computer screen hardcopies for individuals who lost such records as a result of the Camp Fire; and WHEREAS, the Librarian of the County of Butte requests a waiver of County fees for lost materials, replacement library cards, overdue printed materials fine, and computer printing for individuals who lost such materials as a result of the Camp Fire. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the waiver of County fees,associated with the Clerk-Recorder,for copies of certificates of birth, death, marriage, and dissolution of marriage records for individuals who lost such records asa result of the Camp Fire is hereby ratified and confirmed by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte; and IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the waiver nfCounty fees, associated with the Clerk-Recorder, for recorded property documents for individuals who lost such records as a result of the Camp Fire is hereby ratified and confirmed by the Board ofSupervisors ofthe County nf Butte; and NTISFURTHER RESOLVED that the waiver of County fees, associated with the Assessor,for appraisal records and file copies, and computer screen hardcopies for individuals who lost such records as a result of the Camp Fire is hereby ratified and confirmed by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte; and IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the waiver of County fees, associated with the Library, for lost materials, replacement library cards, overdue, printed materials fine, and computer printing for inclividua|»who lost such materials asaresult ofthe Camp Fire ishereby ratified and confirmed by the Board ofSupervisors ofthe County ofButte.
