BUTTE COUNTY ORDINANCE N0. 1$33
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SPEED LIMIT ON CERTAIN RO!~DS WITHIN
THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OI' CALIE`ORNIA
(Vehicle Code Section 22357)
1 The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California,
2 `does ordain as follows:
g' Section l: Said Board finds and determines that upon the basis of an
,¢ ;engineering and traffic survey, the Butte County highways hereinafter described
5 ;come within the provisions of Section 22357 of the Vehicle Code of the Mate
g of California, in that the existing speed limit of twenty-five (25) miles per
q' ':hour is less than is most appropriate to facilitate the orderly movement o£
8: ` traffic on said highways and determines and declares a prima facie speed limit
g~ on such Butte County highways as follows:

10 't`hat a prima facie speed limit of thirty-,five (35) miles per hour is
1Z hereby determ~.n.ed, declared and established and that SPEED LIMIT 35 MxLES
L2 ~ signs be placed at appropriate locations on the hereinafter-described county
13~ ~ h~.ghways , to wit :
14 EAST AVENUE from ESPLANADE to CACTUS AVENUE
FLORAL AVENUE from EAST AVENUE to CHICO CITY LIMITS
15, ~ OAK PARK AVENEE from CHIQ?CITY LIMITS to WEST END
16 Section 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances zn conflict herewith

17 :.are hereby repealed.
18 ~ Section 3: The several features, parts, provisions, sections and terms
1g of this ordinance are hereby declared independent and severable, and the in-
;~Q :.validity, if any, of any feature, part, provisions, section or term thereaf,
2~. ':shall not affect the remainder of this ordinance, nor render the same inopera-
22 `five or invalid.
23 ~ Section 4: The Department of Public Works of the County of Butte is

24 :hereby directed to erect appropriate signs giving notice of the prima facie
25 speed limit established herein, within thirty (30} days of the adoption hereof.
28 This ordinance shall take effect thirty days after its passage, and
before tine expiration of fifteen days after its passage, it shall be published

1` ;`with the names of the members voting for and against the same, once in a
2 `local newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of California.
