The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California,
does ordain as follows:
Section l: Said ~3aard finds and determines that upon the basis of an
engineering and traffic survey, the Butte County highways hereinafter described
come within the provisions of Section 22358 of the Vehicle Code o£ the State
of California, in that a speed limit of fifty-five (55) miles per hour is. more
than is reasonable and safe on said highways and determined and declares a
prima facie speed limit on such Butte county highways as follows:
That a prima facie speed limit of forty-five (45) miles per hour is
hereby determined, declared and established and that S~'EED LIMIT ~€SMILES
signs be placed at appropriate locations on the hereinafter-described county
highway to wit:
ESQUON ROAD from DURHAM HIGHWAX to 500 FEET SOUTH OF MESA ROAD
That a prima facie speed limit of thirtyCfive x.35) miles per hour is
hereby determined, declared and established and that SPEED LIMIT 35 MILES
signs be placed at appropriate locations on the hereinafter-described county
highways fio wit
ESQUON ROAD from 500 FEET SOUTH OF MESA ROAD TO NORTH_END
GAR~3EN ROAD from ESQUON ROAD to LOTT ROAD
Section 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
axe hereby repealed.
Section 3: The several features, parts, provisions, sections and
terms of this ordinance are hereby declared independent and severable and
the invalidity, if any, of any feature, pa~e~t, provision, section. or tee
thereof, shall not affect the remainder of this ordinance, nor render the
same inoperative or invalid.
Section 4: The Department of Public Works of the County of Butte is

:hereby directed to erect appropriate signs giving notice of the prima facie
(speed limit established herein, within thirty (30) days of the adoption
.,hereof.
This ordinance sha11 take effect thirty (3O) days after its passage,
and before the expiration of fifteen (15} days after its passage, it shall
be published with the names of the members voting for and against the same,
,once in a local newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of
California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte,
State of California, at the regular meeting thereof on the 21st day
of June 1977, by the following vote:
AYES Supervisors Lemke, Moseley, Winston and Ghaixman .Richter
NOES: None
ABSENT: Supervisor Madigan
