COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AN "S-R-I"
{SUBURBAN-RESIDENTIAL) DISTRICT

The Baard of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
California, under and pursuant to Chapter 24-30 of the Butte County Code, and
declaring an emergency, DO ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1. The hereinafter described area situated in the County
of Butte, State of California, shall be and it is hereby zoned as an "S-R-1"
(Suburban-Residential) District for a period o£ ane week and such area shall
be subject to the restrictions and restricted uses and regulations hereinafter
specified and provided.
Said area so zoned being located in the unincorporated area of
Butte County, Chico, more particularly described as follows:
That portion of the S2 of Sec. 4, T22N, RIE, MDB&M located
west of Hicks Lane.
That portion of the WZ of Seco 9, T22N, R1E, MDB&M located
north of Parcel 2 of that parcel map recorded in Map Boak 55
on Pages 97 and 98 of the Butte County Recorder, and Gast
of State Hwy 99.
That port~.on of the NW's of the NE's of Sec. 9, T22N, RIE,
MDB&M located south and west of Sycamore Creek.
Lots 5 through 12, 20, 2l, 22, 23, 34, and 35 and the EZ
of lot 33 of "Hobart Sub" per Map of Record in Map Book 4
on page 24 of the Butte County Recorder.
All that portion of lot 41 of said "Hobart Sub" located
north of "Frontier Village" and east of the Sacramento
Northern Railroad right-of-way, per Map of Record in
Map Book 38 on Pages 7b and 77 of the Butte County Recorder.
That portion of lot 42 of said "Hobart Sub" described as:
Be~inning at the southwesterly corner of said lot 42; thence
37 41' 40" W 956.2 ft.; thence N 73° 16' 30" E 812.4 ft.;
thence S 22° 42' 30" E 709.4 ft. to a point on the southerly
line of said lot 42; thence S 53° l4' W 590.4 ft. to the
point of beginning.
Lot l6 and that portion of lot 12 located east of State Hwy
99 of "Esmexalda Tract" per Map of Record in Map Book l on
Page 33 of the Butte County Recorder.

2 Beginning at the most southerly corner of lot 5 of "Hobart
Sub" per Map of Record in Map Book 4 on Page 24 of the
3 Butte County Recorder; thence northwesterly along the
westerly boundary of said "Hobart Sub" x.320 ft.; thence
4 S 52° 50' W of the easterly right-of-way line of State
Hwy 99; thence southeasterly along said right-of-way
S line to the north line of "Esmeralda Tract" per Map of
Record in Map Book 1 on Page 33 of the Butte County
6 Recorder; thence northeasterly along the north line of
said "Esmeralda Tract" and its prolongation to the point
7 of beginning.

SECTION 2. REGULATIONS FOR AN "S-R=1" DISTRICT:

The fallowing regulations shall apply in an "S-R-1"

District:

{A) USES PERMITTED:

1. One single-family dwelling per parcel, not including

tents, trailers, or mobile homes.

2. Accessory buildings pertinent to the permitted uses.

3, Agricultural uses excepting a minimum lot area of
17
43,560 sq. ft. to be devoted to residential use and
18
and the following additional requirements for each
19
animal kept on the: premises.

(a} For each horse or head of cattle or swine over

one year of age - eight thousand one hundred

twenty-five (8,125) sq. ft.

(b) For each sheep or goat - two thousand (2,000)
24
sqo ft.

4. The minimum lot area per dwelling unitl shall not

be less than one acre, the provisions of Section
24-33 notwithstandingo

5. The minimum lot width sha11 not be less than one
hundred thirty {130) ft., the provisions of Section
2G.-33 notwithstanding.
(B) THE FOLLOWING USES SUB.7ECT TO SECURING A IISE PERMIT IN
EACH CASE:
1, Golf courses and country clubs.
2. Public and quasi-public uses including churches,
firehouses, hospitals, parks and playgrounds, schools
and public utility buildings.

(C) SECTION 24-33 SHALL APPLY EXCEPTING LOT WIDTH ANA LOT AREA.
SECTION 3o All uses of land within the district not specifically
authorized and permitted are prohibited.
SECTION 4. Tn comp7.iance with the provisions of said Butte
County Code, Chapter 24, the same is hereby amended by adding this ordinance:
in full.
SECTION 5. The penalties for the violation of the zoning
hereby imposed within the district shall be as provided in the Butte
County Code, Chapter 24, this Ordinance shall from and after its effective
date became a supplement to and part of the Butte County Code, Chapter 24.
SECTION 6. This urgency ordinance shall take effect
immediately upon its passage, and before the expiration of fifteen (15)
days after its passage sha11 be published once with the names of the members
of the Board of Supervisors voting for and against the same in the Chico
Enterprise Record, a newspaper in general circulation in the Gounty of Butte,
State of California. The facts constituting the urgency on which this
Ordinance is based are:

of Butte, State of Califoxnia, on the 19th day of July, 1977, by the following
vats:
