Alf INTERIr1 ORDINANCE ZONING A PORTION OF THE
COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AP! "A-40"
(AGRICULTURAL} DISTRICT
1 The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State
2 of California, under and pursuant to Chapter 24-30 of the butte
~ Gounty Code, and declaring an emergency, DO ORDAIN as follot~rs:
4 SECTION 1. The hereinafter described area situated in
~ the County of Butte, State of Ca?ifornia, shall be and it is
6 hereby zoned as an "A-40" (Agricultural} District for a period
q Of one week and such area shat? be subject to the restriction
8 and restricted uses and regulations hereinafter specified and
9 provided.
10 Said area so zoned being located in the unincarparated
1]. area of Butte County, Chico, mare particularly described as
12 folIoGrs:
13 All of Sections 26, 27, 28, 33; 3q~, and 35, T23N,
R1E, P4D6 & M excepting therefrom all that portion
14 located tivithin the city limits of Chico.
15 All of Sections Z and 3, T22N, RlE, MDB & M
excepting therefrom all that portion located ~~ithin
16 the city limits of Chico.
17 That portion of the N 1/2 of Section 4, T22~J, R1E,
MDB & M located crest of the city limits of Chico.

That portion of the 5 ?/2 of Section 4, T22N, RlE,
19 MDB & M Iocated east of Hicks Lane. Excepting
therefrom a71 that portion located ~r~ithin the
20 city limits of Chico.
2Z That portion of Sections 9, 70, and 17, T22tJ,
P,?E, MDB & M located north of Sycamore Creek.

1 SECTi0~4 2. REGULATIgNS FOR A~~ "A--40" ~liSTiRCT.
2 The following regulations shall apply in an "A`40"
3 District.
4 (A} USES PERMITTED:
~ 1. Une single-family d~rrzlling per parcel, including
6 mobile homes.
7 2. General agriculture farming, horticulture,
8 commercial livestock, poultry production, ,~
9 grooving and harvesting forestry products,
10 warehousing and storage.
11 3. Accessory buildings and uses pertinent to the
12 permitted uses, including argirultural
13 processing plants.
14 4. Housing facilities (including trailers) to
15 accommodate only employees and theirfamilies
16 employed by the owner or operator of the

premises; and provided further that such
18 housing -facility shall be considered accessory
19 to the main building and shall conform to the
20 provisions pertaining to required yard and
2I open space for dwellings.
22 5. Mining, quarrying, commercial excavation and
23 wood processing plants.
24 b. Hunting and fishing camps, including those
25 which accommodate recreational vehicles and
26 travel trailers, provided that said recreationa

1 vehicles and travel trailers shall not be used
2 for year-round occupancy.
3 {B) MINIMUM LOT AREA REQUIRED
4 Minimum lot area sha11 not be less than forty {40)
5 acres.
6 {C) FRONT YARD SETBACK
7 Minimum front yard setback sha17 be fifty {50)
8 feet from the cneterline of the reoad, except
9 where the road is classified by the County as a
la Federal Aid Secondary Road, the minimum building
I1 setback requirements shall be fifty-five {55) feet
].2 from the cneterline of the road. ~
13 {D) SIDE AND REAR YARD REQUIRED.
Z4 Minimum side and rear yard shall not be less than
15 twventy-five {25) feet.
~6 SECTION 3. All uses of land within the district not
17 specifically authorized and permitted are, prohibited.
18 SECTION 4. In compliance with the provisions of said
19 Butte County Code, Chapter 2~, the same is hereby amended by
20 adding this ordinance in full,
21 SECTION 5. The penalties far the violation of the
22 zoning hereby imposed within the district shall be as provided
23 in the Butte County Code, Chapter 24, this Ordinance shall from and
24 after its effective date become a supplement to and part of the
25 Butte County Code, Chapter 24.

Z2 County of Butte, State of California, on the 19th day of July, 1977
