AN ORDINANCE ~ONI~1G A PORTION OF THE COUNTY OF
BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, A "C-2" (GENERAL
COMMERCIAL) DISTRIGT, PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 24-29.
1 The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State
2 of California, under and pursuant to Chapter 24-29 of the Butte
3 County Code of said Gaunty DO ORDAIfV as follows:
4 SECTION 1. The hereinafter described area situated in
5 the Gaunty of Butte, State of California, shall be and it is
6 hereby zoned as a "C-2" (General Commercial) District, and such
7 area shall be subject to the restrictions and restricted uses and
8 regulations hereinafter specified and provided.
9 Said area sa zoned being located in the unincorporated
~0 area of Butte County, Ghico, more particularly described a~s

3.2 Beginning at an iron pipe on the westerly side of
the Shasta Road (U .5. 99E) southerly 2036.1 feet
13 from the center of that county road known as
Renshaw Avenue; thence southerly along said road
].~ line 2O feet to an iron pipe; thence at right
angles westerly 814 .O feet to an iron pipe; thence
la at right angles northerly 734.5 feet to an iron
pipe; thence at right angles easterly 552.0 feet
~s to an iron pipe; thence at right angles southerly
714.5 feet to an iron pipe; thence at right angles
17 easterly 262,0 feet to the point of beginning.
18 Reserving therefrom all that portion of the above
described parcel lying within East Avenue, and
19 all that portion located within 300 ft. of Esplanade.
20 Containing 9.0 acres, more or less.
21 `; . ..:.~ :°:' SEGTION 2. REGULATIONS FOR A "C-2" DISTRIGT:
22 The following regulations shall apply in a "C-2"
23 District.
24 (A) USES PERMITTED:
2g 1, Dwellings and dwelling groups, subject to the
2e building site area, lot width and yard require-

1 meats specified for residential districts.
2 2. All uses permitted in "G-1" (!.fight Commercial)
3 Districts,
4 3. General commercial uses including art shops,
6 aviaries, bar and cocktail lounges, billiard
g parlors and pool halls, bowling alleys, bu'~~ding
7 material (retail), cleaning and pressing
8 establishments, dance halls, interior decorating
9 shops, employment agencies, governmental legis-
la lative buildings, gymnasiums, public, commercial
I1 or physical cultural studios, hospitals, hotels
I2 and motels, laboratories and x-ray facilities,
13 massage parlors and reducing salons, equipment
14 rentals, pet shops, used car lots, repair garages,
15 auto car washes, plumbing shops, cabinet shops,
I~ sign manufacturing shops, and other retail
17 establishmnents when interpreted as similar.
18 4. Accessory uses and buildings pertinent to a
19 permitted use.

2 and small animal hospitals and mortuaries.
3 ~C} THE REQUIREMENTS OF SECTION 24-33 OF TFfIS CODE ARE
4 MODIFIED FOR ALL BUILDING SITES IN C-2 ZONE: IN TE#E
5 FOLLOWING PARTICULARS:
6 l . Lot width required ,
7 ~4inimum lot Width shall not be less than twenty-

9 The lot width requirements for residential
1d dwellings shall conform to the requirements for

12 2. Side yard requirements.
13 None, except where the side of a lot abuts upon
3.4 the side of a lot in an "R" District, in which
15 case the abutting side yard shall not be less
I.6 than five (5} feet; and except where the side
1'T yard on the street side of a corner lot abuts on
18 an "R" District, in which case the side yard on
19 the street side shall be one-half the front yard
20 required in such "R" Districts.
2~- The side yard requirements for residential
22 dwellings shall conform to the requirements for
23 any residential zone.'
24 3. Rear yard required.
25 ~ Twelve (12} feet, or five (5} feet adjacent to
26 an alley.

1 SECTION 3, A11 uses of land within the district not
2 specifically authorized and permitted are prohibited.
3 SECTION 4. Incompliance with the provisions of said
4 Butte County Code, Chapter 24, the sane is hereby amended by adding

6 SECTION 5. The penalties for the violation of the
7 zoning hereby imposed within the district shall be as provided in
8 the Butte County Code, Chapter 24, this Ordinance shall from and
9 after its effective date become a supplement to and part of the
10 Butte County Code, Chapter 24.
lI SECTION 6. This Ordinance shall be and it is hereby
12 declared to be in full force and effect from and after thirty (30)
13 days after the date of its passage, and before the expiration of
l4 fifteen (15) days after its passage, this Ordinance sha11 be
15 published once with the names of the members of the Board of
16 Supervisors voting for and against it in the Chico Exzter~prise_ ____
17 Recora a newspaper published in the County of Butte,
18 State of California.
19 PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the
2O County of Butte, State of California, on-the 9~h day
2I of August 1977, by the following vote:
