(LIGHT INDUSTRIAL) DISTRICT 1 The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State 2 of California, under and pursuant to Chapter 24--30 of the Butte 3 County Code, and declaring an emergency, DO ORDAIN as fol~.ows: 4 SECTION 1. The hereinafter described area situated in 5 the County of Butte, State of California, shall be and it is g hereby zoned as an "M-1" {Light Industrial) District far a period ry of 120 days, and such area sha11 be subject to the restrictions 8 and restricted uses and regulations hereinafter specified and 9 provided. 1a Said area so zoned being located in the unincorporated 11 area of Butte County, Chico, more particularly described as 12 fo~.laws: 13 That portion of Lot 41 of "Hobart Sub" per Map of Record in Map Book ~ on Page 24 of .the 14 Butte County Recorder located north of "Frontier Village Sub" per Map of Record in 15 Map Book 3$ on Pages 76 and 77 of the Butte County Recorder. 16 A11 of Lot 42 of "Hobart Sub" per Map of 1'7 Record in Map Boak 4 an Page 2~} of the Butte County Recorder excepting therefrom the 18 following described parcel,: 19 Beginning at the southwesterly corner of said Lot 42, also being in the 20 centerline of Lassen Ave., thence N 530 14' E, 321.40 ft. to the centerline of 21 a 50 ft. drainage easement; thence N 2° 47' E, 78.0$ ft; thence N b° 5$t 15" W, 22 gg.79 ft.; thence N 19° 06' W, 106.83 ft.; thence N 24° 28' 45" W, 216.4 23 ft.; thence N 22° 42' 30" W, 100.57 24 ft.; thence along a 240 ft. radius curve to the lift, through an angle of $4° Ol' a distance off' 293.27 ft.; 25 thence N 16° 45' W, 25.23 ft ,; thence S 73° 16' 30°' W, 433.59 ft. to the 26 westerly line of said Lot 42; thence -1- 1 2 3 4 5 6' 7 8 9 10 ll 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 and castings, assaying, broom and brush manu- facturing, die casting, dog pounds, draying, freighting ar trucking yard ar terminals, heavy equipment rental or sale, heating and ventilating service shops, jewelry manufacturing, lamp shade manufacturing, lumber yards, packaging plants, public ubility service yard, truck repairing and overhauling and welding shops . 5. Dyeing and rug cleaning plants, veterinary hospitals and animal shelters and boarding kennels cabinet and woodworking shops, construction and material yards. 6. Any use permitted in C-1 and G-2 zones. {B) THE FOLLOWTNG USES SUB~'ECT TO THE SECURTNG OF A USE PERMTT TN EACH CASE. 1. Any residential use. 2. Storage of inflammables. 3. Manufacturing of acids, explosives, fertilizer, glue, gypsum, lime, plaster of parts, pulp and paper, beet sugar, crushed rock, sand and gravel, cement, concrete and/ar asphalt hatching plants, concrete and clay products. 4. Industrial uses which might .be objectionable by reason of emission of noise, offensive odor, smoke, dust, bright light, vibration or invol-~ ving the handling of explosives or dangerous -3 - X 2 3 4 5 6' 7 8 9 ZO 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 materials. 5. Junk yards and auto wrecking yards. {C) THE REQUIREMENTS OF SECTION 2~+~-33 of THIS CODE A1~E MODIFIED FOR ALL BUILDING SITES IN M-1 ZONES TN THE FOLLOWING PARTICULARS: 1. There is na lot area minimum nor lot width minimum except as may be required for the building and for off-street loading area and parking. 2. Side Yard: None, except where the side of a lot abuts an '~R" District, in which case the side yard shall be not less than five {5} feet. 3. Rear Yard: None, except where the rear yard abuts an "R" District, in which case the rear yard shall be not less than five {5) feet. ~4. Truck Loading and Un loading Space: Private off-street loading space far the handling of all goods, materials and equipment shall be provided. Such space shall be of sufficient area and of such design as to permit the parking and lo~d~.ng of vehicles without extending into any existing street beyond the curb line. ~. Off-street Parking: One parking space far each three {3) employees or one parking space for each two thousand {2,000} square feet of grass floor space, whichever is greater. SECTION 3. In compliance with the provisions of said Butte County Code, Chapter 2~, the same is hereby amended by adding this ord~.nance in full. SECTION 5. The penalties for the violation of the zoning hereby imposed within the district shall be as provided in the Butte County Code, Chapter 2~, this Ordinance shall from and after Sts effective date became a supplement to and part of the Butte County Code, Chapter 2~. SECTION 6, This urgency ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage, and before the expiration of fifteen (15) days after its passage shall be published once with the names of the members of the Board of Supervisors voting far and against the same in the Chico Enterprise Record, a newspaper in general circulation in the County of Butte, State of California. The fact constituting the urgency on which this Ordinance is based is: 1. To protect the health, safety, and welfare of ' the public.
