AN ORDINANCE ZONING A PORTION OF THE COUNTX OF
BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AN "M-1" (LIGHT
INDUSTRIAL) DISTRICT,, PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 21}-29.
1 The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State
2 of California, under and pursuant to Chapter 2~4-2~ of the Butte
3 County Cade of said County DO ORDAIN as follows:
4 SECTION ~.. The hereinafter described area situated in
5 the County of Butte, State of California, shall be and it is
6 hereby zoned as an "M-1" {Light Industrial) District, and such
7 area shall be subject to the restrictions and restricted uses
8 and regulations hereinafter specified and provided.
9 Said area so zoned being located in the unincorporated
10 area of Butte County, Chico, more particularly described as
11 follows:
12 Lot T of "Vista Del Monte Sub" per Map of
Record in Map Book 17 on Page 6 of the Butte
13 County Recorder.
14 Containing 1.0 acre, more or less.
15 SECTION 2. REGULATIONS FOR AN "M-1" DISTRICT:
16 The fallowing regulations shall apply in an "M-1"
17 District.
18 (A) USES PERMITTED
19 1. Wholesale and storage warehouses.
20 2. The assembly and storage of goads, materials,
21 liquids and equipment (except the storage of
22 inflammable matter or explosives or materials
23 which create dust, odors or fumes).
24 3. Feed storehouses and warehouses and fuel yards.
25 !~. The manufacturing, processing, fabricating,
26 assembling, refining, repairing, packaging and

treatment of goads, materials and products by
power (oil, gas or electric?, including by way
of example and illustration, but not limited to
the manufacturing, fabrication and assembling of
bathroom shower and patio partitions, enclosures
and doors, windows and store fronts of aluminum,
plast~.c and fiberglass, or other suitable
material, and the processing, finishing, polishing
and anodizing of aluminum extrusions and castings,
assaying, broom and brush manufacturing, die
casting, dog pounds, draying, freighting or
trucking yard or terminals, heavy equipment rental
or sale, heating and ventilating service shops,
jewelry manufacturing, lamp shade manufacturing,
lumber yards, packaging plants, public utility
service yard, truck repairing and. overhauling
and welding shops.
5. Dyeing and rug cleaning plants, veterinary
hospitals and animal shelters and boarding
kennels, cabinet and woodworking shops, con-
struction and material yards.
6. Any use permitted in C--1 and C-2 zones.
{B) THE FOLLOWING USES SUBJECT TO THE SECURING OF A
USE PERMIT IN EACH CASE.
1. Any residential use.

3. Manufacturing of acids, explosives, fertilizer,
glue, gypsum, lime, plaster of parts, pulp and ~,
paper, beet sugar, crushed rock, sand and gravel,
cement, concrete and/or asphalt batching plants,
concrete and clay products.
4. Industrial uses which might be objectionable by
reason of emission of noise, offensive odor,
smoke, dust, bright l~.ght, vibration or
involving the handling of explosives or
dangerous materials.
5. .Tank yards and auto wrecking yards.
{C} THE REQUIREMENTS OF SECTION 2~€--33 OF THIS CODE ARE
MODIFXED FOR ALL BUILDING SITES IN M-l ZONES 2N THE
FOLLOWING PARTICULARS:
1. There is no lot area minimum nor lot width
minimum except as may be required for the
building and for off--street loading area and
parking.
2. Side Yard: None, except where the side of a lot
abuts an "Rt' District, in which case the side
yard shall be not less than five (5) feet.
3. Rear Yard: None; except where the rear yard
abuts an "R" District, in which case the rear
yard shall be not less than five (5) feet.
~. Truck Loading and Unloading Space: Private off-
street loading space for the handling of all

goods, materials and equipment shall be provided.
Such space shall be of sufficient area and of
such design as to permit the parking and loading
of vehicles without extending into any existing
street beyond the curb line.
5. Off-street Parking: One parking space for each
three (3) employees or one parking space for
each two thousand (2,000) square feet of gross
floor space, whichever is greater.
SECTION 3,. All uses of land within the district not
specifically authorized and permitted are prohibited.
SECTION ~. In compliance with the provisions of said
Butte County Code, Chapter 24, the same ~.s hereby amended by
adding this Ordinance in full.
SECTION 5. The penalties for the violat~,on of the
zdning hereby imposed within the district shall be as provided in
the Butte County Cade, Chapter 2~, this Ordinance shall from and
after its effective date become a supplement to and part of the
Butte County Code, Chapter 2~€.
SECTION 6. This Ordinance shall be and it is hereby
declared to be in full force and effect from and after thirty (3Q)
days after the date of its passage, and before the expiration of
fifteen (15) days after its passage, this Ordinance shall be
published once with the names of the members of the Board of
Supervisors voting for and against it in the Chico ___
enter rise _., a newspaper published in the County of Butte,
