HomeMy WebLinkAbout1886ORDINANCE N0. 1885 AN ORDINANCE ZONING A PORTION OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AN M-2 (HEAVY INDUSTRIAL) ZONE, PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 24--29 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 '~~ Z1 Y2 ~.3 14 ~5 16 i~ 18 3.9 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, under and pursuant to Chapter 24-29 of the Butte County Code of said County DO ORDAIN as follows: SECTION 1. The hereinafter described area situated in The County of Butte, State of California, shall be and it is hereby zoned as an "M-2" (Heavy Industrial) District, and such area shall be subject to the restrictions and restricted uses and regulations hereinafter specified and provided. Said area so zoned being located in the unincorporated area of Butte County, Chico, more particularly described as follows: Lot 1 of "Sears Industrial Tract per Map of Record in Map Book 8 on Page 4~ of the Butte County Recorder and also, All that property located northwesterly of, anal within 2~0 ft. of the northwesterly line of Lot 1 of said "Sears Industrial Tract" excepting therefrom-all that portion located within the city limits of Chico. Containing x.75 acres, more or less, Chico. SECTION 2. REGULATIONS FOR AN "M-2" DISTRICT: The following regulations shall apply in an "M-2'r II District: (A) Uses permitted: l.~Any uses permitted in M-1 Districts. 2. Aircraft factories, manufacturing of asbestoes, assaying, boiler wanks, breweries and distilleries, candle manufacturing, carbon manufacturing, cellulose materials manufacturing, chain anal cable manufacturing, 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 i~ 16 17 18 19 20 2Z 22 23 24 2~ 26 disinfectants manufacturing, dry kilns, emery cloth anal J` sandpaper manufacturing, enameling, feel and cereal mills, foundries, freight terminals, galvanizing and lead plat- ing, glass or glass product manufacturing, lamp black manufacturing, machinery manufacturing, soda and cleaning compound manufacturing, match manufacturing, metal fab- rication, oilcloth of linoleum manuf acturing, oxygen man- ufacturing, paint manufacturing, paper box manufacturing, petroleum distributing stations (wholesale or retail), plywood manufacturing, printing ink manufacturing, rai.l- road yards or roundhouses, rope manufacturing, soap and soap compound manufacturing, starch; Glucose or dextrine mfg., vegetable oil manufacturing, welding shops and sheet metal shops, wood planing mill or woodworki~.g plants, yeast plants and other similar industrial enterprises or businesses in character to those enumerated when interpreted as similar by the Planning Commission. 3. Canneries, olive processing plants and other agacultural processing plants of similar nature, 4. Accessory uses and buildings permitted pertinent to any permitted use. {B) The following uses subject to securing a use permit din each case: 1. Any residential useo 2. Commercial distillation of bones, abattoirs, auction yards, commercial livestock feed yards, -2- 2, 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 30 1Z 12 13 3.4 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 commercial millings, canneries, lumber and lumber processing, tanneries, fat rendering, garbage fed commercial hog raising, food and agriculture product processing plantso 3a Storage of inflammables. 4. Dumping and disposal areaso 5. Manufacturing of acids, explosives, fertilizer, glue, gypsum, lime, plaster ~' paris, pulp anal paper, beet sugar, crushed rock, sand and gravel, cement, concrete and~'or asphalt botching plants, concrete and clay products. 6o Industrial uses which might be objectionable by reason of emission of noise, offensive odor, smoke, dust, bright light, vibration or involving the handling of explosives or dangerous materials. 7. Junk yards anal auto wrecking yards. (C) The requirements of Section 24-33 of this Cade are modified for all building sites in M-2 zones in the following particulars: 1. Rear Yard: None, except where the rear yard abuts an "R" District, in which case the rear yard shall be not less-than five C5) feet. 4. Truck Loading and Unloading Space: Private. off-street loading space for the handling of all goods, materials and equipment shall be provided. Such space shall be of sufficient area and of such design as to permit the parking and loading of vehicles without extending into any existing street beyond the curb line. 5. Off-street Parking: One parking space for each three C3) employees, or one parking space for each two thousand (2,000} square feet of gross floor space, whichever is greatero SECTION 3o All uses of land within the district not specifically authorized and permitted are prohibited. SECTION 4o In compliance with the provisions of said Butte County Code, Chapter 24, the same is hereby amended by adding this Ordinance in fuT?. SECTION 5o The penalties for the violation of the zoning hereby imposed within the district shall be as provided in the Butte County Code, Chapter 24, this Ordinance shall from and after its effective date become a supplement to and part of the Butte County Code, Chapter 24. SECTION 6.
