Section 1. That ~~-4 of the Butte County Code be amended to read as follows: ~~ 1~. Fees; late registration. (~a) The fee for kennel 3.icenses shall be $lO. (b) The yearly fee for dog registration shall be $~. (c) The fee for registration of a dog which has been in the county less than 30 days or which has changed owners within the preceding 30 days sha11 be as follows: (1) If more than 9 months rema~.n in the fiscal year, the registration fee shall be $5.00 for unaltered dogs and $2.50 for altered dogs. (2) If there remains at least b months but no more than 9 months in the fiscal year, the registration fee sha11 be $3.75 for unaltered dogs and $:1-,;$5 for altered dogs. (3) If there remains at least 3 months but no more than 6 months in the fiscal year, the registration fee sha11. be $2.50 for unaltered dogs and $-1:25 for altered dogs. (~.) Tf three months or less remains i.n the fiscal year, the registration fee shall be $1.25 for unaltered dogs and $G.O for altered dogs. (d) Tf a dog is not registered duri~ the month of duly and has been in the county for more than 30 days or has not ck:anged ownership wa.thin the preceding 30 days, the fee for registration sha11 be $5 for unaltered dogs and $2.50 for altered dogs plus a 1 2 3 4 5 8 7 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 28 penalty of $7 for late registration. Sect 2. That ~4-5 of the Butte County Gode 'be amended to read as follows: ~~.-5 Animal Control Officer to register and issue license. The Animal Gontrol Of#~cer in the Butte Gounty Sheriff's Department shall be responsible for prova-ding registration and kennel license applications and registration tags, and kennel 1a.censes. Dogs may be registered and kennel licenses obtained at the County Animal Control Office, located at the Butte County Sheriff's Departments or at other places designated by the Animal Gontrol Officer. Section That ~i~-$ of the Butte Gounty Code be amended to read as follows: ~1+-$. Proof of vaccination may be submitted by mail after registration, etc.; failure to submit. To facilitate the administration of this article, the Animal Control Officer and other persons authorized to reg~.ster dogs and issue kennel. licenses are hereby authorized to accept registration and kennel licenses fees for dogs and kennels not meeting vaccination requirements in sections ~.-b and 1+-7 above and to give a receipt therefor without issuing a ~. registration tag. The Animal Control Officer shall arrange for proof of vaccination to be returned by mail. The dog or kennel owner shall be allowed 30 days from the date of his receipt to present proof of vaccination to the licensing authority. Upon receipt of proof of vaccination against -2- 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 to I1 12 ~,3 14 15 18 17 18 is 20 2i 22 23 24 25 26 rabies as required in section 1~--6 above, the licensing authority sha11 mail or otherwise present to the dog owner or kennel owner the registration fag or kennel License. Tn the event that proof of vaccination is not returned to the licensing authority within 30 days from the date of the fee receipt, then the fee shall be forfeited to the county and the dog or kennel shall not be registered or licensed. Section That ~4-11 of the Butte County Code be amended to read as follows: ~~-11. Isolation, quarantine, etc., of suspected rabid dog or biting dog, impounding. The Animal Control. Officer as we11 as the Health Officer may order the holding in isolation or quarantine at the pound any dog which is rabid, suspected of being rabid, or which has bitten a person, and upon the order of the Animal Control Officer or Health Officer mad be redeemed by the owner at the end of the quarantine or isolation period upon payment of the cost of boarding and feeding such dog during its stay at the pound. Section ~.
