Home My WebLink About19-049WHEREAS, Senate Bill 1(SB 1ithe Road Repair and Accountability Act ofI017(Chapter 5, Statutes of2Q17);was passedbwLhe Legislature and Signed into law bythe Governor in April 2017 in orderto addressthe significant multi-modail transportation funding shortfaNsstatewide; and WHEREAS, SB 1 includes accountability and transparency provisions that will ensure the residents of Butte County are aware of the projects proposed for funding in our community and which projects have been completed each fiscal year; and WHEREAS, Butte County must adopt bmresolution alist ofall projects proposed to receive funding from the Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Account/RK1RAi created by SB 1, which nmust include a description, the location of each, proposed project, a proposed schedule for the project's completion, and the estimated useful life of the improvement; and WHEREAS, Butte County, will receive an estimated $5.91 million in RIVIRA funding in Fiscal Year 2019-20 from SB MW WHEREAS, this is the third year in which Butte County is receiving SB 1funding and will enable the County to continue essential road maintenance and rehabilitation projects, safety improvements, repairing and replacing aging bridges, and increasing access and mobility options for the traveling public that would not have otherwise been possible without SDI ;and WHEREAS, Butte County used aPavement Management System tedevelop the SB1project list to ensure revenues are being used on the most high-priority and cost-effective projects that also meet the communities priorities for transportation investment; and WHEREAS, the funding from SB 1 will help the County to maintain and rehabilitate its approximately 1,3010 miles of roads, 500 bridges throughout the County this year and into the future; and WHERAS the 2018 California Statewide Local Streets and Roads Need!s Assessment found the County's streets and roads are iman°aL'hsktopoor" condition and this revenue will help msincrease the overall quality mfthe road system and over the next decade will bring streets and roads into e"good tofair" condition; and WHEREAS, the SB I project list and overall investment in our local streets and roads infrastructure with a focus on basic maintenance and safety, investing in complete streets infrastructure, and using cutting-edge techno|ngy, materials and practices, will have significant positive co -benefits statewide. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, as follows: 1. The foregoing recitals are true and correct. 2. The fiscal year 2019-20 list of new projects planned to be funded in part with Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Account revenues are as listed on Exhibit A to this resolution. 3. The fiscal year 2019-20 list of previously proposed and adopted projects that may utilize Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Account revenues in their delivery are as listed on Exhibit B to this resolution.
