HomeMy WebLinkAbout19-080Resolution No. 1�O8O WHEREAS, the Camp Fire of November 2018 is the, deadliest and most destructive wildfire inCalifornia History. The fire covered approximately 153,80Oacres, burned nearly l9,8Q8homes, businesses, mrother structures inthe Town of Paradise, and the unincorporated communities ofParadise Pines, K8aga|la, Cnncom, Yankee Hill, Pu|ge, Butte Creek Canyon, Butte Valley and surrounding areas, and displaced nearly 52,QQQButte County residents; and WHEREAS, mutual aid personnel from various agencies throughout the State and from across the nation provided immediate action and support by engaging with Butte County's Office of Emergency Management, and many ofwhich continue to provide post -disaster assistance to support to the County for recovery efforts; and WHEREAS, the Butte County Board of Supervisors recognize the brave and tireless efforts ofindividuals who contributed skills, knowledge, time, and energy to the County of Bu1te among whom were first responders from numerous agencies aind jurisdictions from across the nation who worked to ensure the safety of the residents of the County mfButte; mutual aid personnel from surrounding counties and communities who worked long shifts to provide staffing inthe Emergency Operations Center, including tended tothe animals rescued from the Camp Fire. NOW, THEREFORE, BE[TRESOLVED that the Butte County Board ofSupervisors here6*nacognizesamdommmends the services provided by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife during the Camp Fire, and for those efforts that continue tobeextended to the County ofButte during the Camp Fire recovery efforts.
