AN ORDINANCE ZONING A PORTION OF THE COUNTY OF
BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, A "C-2" (GENERAL
COMC"NiRCIAL} DISTRICT, PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 24-~2g.

The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State
of Calif ornia, under and pursuant to Chapter 24-2g of the Butte
County Code of said County DO ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1. The hereinafter described area situated in
the County of Butte, State of California, shall be anal it is
hereby zoned as a "C--2" (General Commercial) District, and such
area shall be subject to the restrictions and restricted uses
and regulations hereinafter specified and provided.
Said area so zoned being located in the unincorporated
area of Butte County, Paradise, more particularly described as
I follows
All that property located east of and within
300 ft. of the following described line:
Commencing at a point in the east and west
centerline of said Sec. 31, distant thereon
59.g3 ft. easterly from the quarter corner ~:~
common to said Sec. 31 and Sec. 36, T23N, R3E, MhB&M
said point lying on the easterly boundary of that
certain County Road kngwn as the Paradise-Stirling
City Road; thence N 8g 51' east along said east
and west centerline of said Sec. 31, a distance
of 1174.27 ft. to the southeast ~~rner of said
south half of Lot 2; thence N 01 44' east along the
easterly boundary of said Lot 2, a distance of
561.63 ft. to the northeast corner ~f the south
half of said Lot 2; thence north 86 45' west along
the northerly boundary of the south half of said
Lot 2, a distance of 1220.15 ft. to the true point
of beginning of the herein described line and
being located in the said easterly boundary of the
Paradise-Stirling City Raad, tangent to which at
this point bears N Ol 11' west; thence along the
arc of a curve to the right having a radius of
1030.0 ft., through a central angle of 40 51' an
arc -distance of 87.18 ft. to the end of said
curve; thence south 030 40' west, along the tangent
to said last named curve, a distance of 236.04 ft.
to the beginning of a curve to the left having a
radius of 770.0 ft.; thence along the arc of said
1 curve, through a central. angle of 23° 40'
an arc distance of 318.05 ft. to the end of
2 the herein described line,
3 SECTION 2. REGULATIONS FOR A "C-2" DISTRICT:
4 The fallowing regulations shall apply in a "C-2"
~ District:
g (.A) USES PERMITTED.-
7 1. Dwellings and dwelling groups, subject to.the
8 building site area, lot width and yard requirements
9 specified for residential districts.
10 2. All uses permitted in "C-1" (Light Commercial)
Z1 Districts.
12 3. General commercial uses including art shops,
13 aviaries, bar and cocktail lounges, billiard parlays
14 and pool halls, bowling alleys, building material
15 (retail), cleaning and pressing establishments, dance
16 halls; interior decorating shops, employment agencies,
17 governmental legislative buildings, g~asiums, public
18 commercial or physical cultural studios, hospitals,
19 hotels and motels, laboratories and x-ray facilities,
2d massage parlors and reducing salons, equipment rentals,
2I pet shops, used car lots, repair garages, auto car
22 washes, plumbing shops, cabinet shops, sign manufacturing
23 shops, and other retail establishments when interpreted
24 as similar.
25 4. Accessory uses ancl'buildings pertinent to a permitted
26 use.

(B) THE FOLLOWING USES SUBJECT TO SECURING A USE PERMIT
IN EACH CASE:
1. Welding shops.
2. Manufacturing of clothing, handicraft products,
printing, lithographing and other ~.ight manufacturing
ar industrial uses of similar character.
3. Public or quasi--public uses including churcYies.
4. Service stations, drive-in restaurants, kennels
and small animal hospitals and mortuaries.
(C) THE REQUIREMENTS OF SECTION 24-33 OF THIS CODE ARE
MODIFIED FOR ALL BUILDING SITES IN C-2 ZONES IN THE FOLLOWING
PARTICULARS:
1. Lot w~.dth required:
Minimum lot width sha~.l not be less than twenty-
five {25) feet.
The lot width requirements for residential dwellings
shall conform to the requirements for any residential
zone.
2. Sa.de yard requirements:
None, except where the side of a lot abuts upon the
side of a lat in an "R" District, in which case the
abutting side yard shall not be less than five (~)
feet; and except where the side yard on the street side
of a corner lot abuts on an "R" District, in which case
the side yard on the street side shall be one-half the
front yard required in such "R" Districts.

1 The side yard requirements for residential dwellings
2 shall conform to the requirements for any residential
3 zone.
4 4. Rear yard required:
5 Twelve (12} feet, or five C5) Feet adjacent to an
6 alley.
7 SECTION 3. All uses of land within the district not
$ specifically authorized and permitted are prohibited.
9 SECTION 4. In compliance with the provisions of said
10 Butte County Code, Chapter 24, the same is hereby amended by
11 adding this Ordinance in full.
12 SECTION 5. The penalties for the violation of the
13 zoning hereby imposed within the district shall be as provided in
].4 the Butte County Code, Chapter 24, this Ordinance shall from and
15 after its effective date become a supplement to and part of the
16 Butte County Code, Chapter 24.
17 SECTION 6. This Ordinance shall be and it is hereby
18 declared to be in full force anal effect from and after thirty
19 {30} days after the date of its passage, and before the expiration
20 of fifteen (15) days after its passage, this Ordinance shall be
2I published once with the names of the members of the Board of
22 Supervisors voting far and against it in the Parada.se Post,
23 a newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of Calif ornia.
