WHEREAS, the Camp Fire ofNovember 2O18isthe deadliest and most destructive wildfire lmCalifornia History
The fire covered approximately 153,000acres, burned nearly 19/]88homes, businesses, orother structures in, the Town
of Paradise, and the unincorporated communities ufParadise Pines, K4agaUa, Comcmxv, Yankee Hill, Pw;ga, Butte Creek
Canyon, Butte Valley and surrounding areas, anddisplaced nearly 52,O8OButte County residents; and
WHEREAS, mutual aiid personnel from various agencies throughout the State and from across the nation provided
immediate action and support by engaging with Butte County's Office of Emergency Management, and many mfwhich
continue to provide post -disaster assistance to support to the County for recovery efforts; and
WHEREAS, the Butte County Board of Supervisors recognize the brave and tireless efforts of individuals who
contributed skills, knowledge, time, and energy to the County mfButteamong m/huno were first responders from
numerous agencies and jurisdictions from across the nation, who worked to ensure the safety of the residents of the
County of Butte; mutual aid personnel from surrounding counties and communities who worked long shifts to provide
staffing imthe Emergency Operations Center, including tended tothe animals rescued from the Camp Fire.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE[TRESOLVED that the Butte County Board ofSupervisors hereby recognizes and commends
the services provided by The City of Wheatland cluring the Camp Fire, and for those efforts that continue tobeextended
tothe County ofButte during the Camp Fire recovery efforts.
PASSED AND ADOPTED bythe Butte County Board of Supervisors this 7mday of May, 2019, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Connelly, Lucero, Ritter, Teeter, and Chair Lambert
