HomeMy WebLinkAbout19-128RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING AND COMMENDING MUTUAL AID PROVIDED BY WHEREAS, the Camp Fire ofNovember 3818 is the deadliest and most destructive wi]dfire in California History. The fire covered approximately 153,O80acres, burned nearly 19,OOQhomes, businesses, orother structures imthe Town of Paradise, and the unincorporated communities ofParadise Pines, Maga|ia, Concom, Yankee Hill, pu|Qa^ Butte Creek Canyon, Butte Valley and surrounding areas, and displaced nearly 52,O0OButte County residents; and WHEREAS, mutual aid personnel from various agencies throughout the State and from across the nation provided immediate action and support by engaging with Butte County's Office of Emergency Management, and nmainy of which continue to provide pos,t-disaster assistance to support to the County for recovery efforts; and WHEREAS, the Butte County Boa:rd of Supervisors recognize the brave and tireless efforts ofimdivNuals who contributed skills, knowledge, time, and energy to the County nfButte, among whom were first responders from numerous agencies and jurisdictions from across the nation who worked to ensure the safety of the residents of the County ofButte; mutual aid personnel from surrounding counties and communities who worked Uwmg shifts to provide staffing imthe Emergency Operations Center, including tended to the animals rescued from the Camp Fire. NOW, THEREFORE, BED[RESOLVED that the Butte County Board nfSupervisors hereby recognizes and commends the services provided bw[m|usa County during the Camp Fire, and for those efforts that continue, tobeextended tothe County VfButte during the Camp Fire, recovery efforts.
