HomeMy WebLinkAbout19-186RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING MAY 13, 2019 THROUGH MAY 20, 2019 AS SALVATION ARMY WEEK WHEREAS, the Salvation Army was founded in 1865 and has a long-standing tradition of ministering to meet the needs of residents and visitors to, the County of Butte with basic human necessities through the year; and WHEREAS, the Salvation Army of Oroville, along with volunteers, soldiers, and donors, reach out to those in need by offering a hand up, rather than a hand out; and WHEREAS, the County of Butte reaches out to people in need through organizations such as the Salvation Army; MM WHEREAS, the Salvation Army has reached out to people internationally in over 130 countries as well as those in need in the County of Butte through donations; and WHEREAS, residents of the County of Butte respond with open hearts to the need of the community. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors hereby recognize May 13, 2019 through IMay 20, 2019 as Salvation Army Week.
