HomeMy WebLinkAbout19-196WHEREAS, Jason Tate, Program Manager for North Valley Catholic Social Services (NVCSS) has announced his
retirement effective June 11, 2019; and
WHEREAS, Jason has helped develop and oversee the North Valley Talk Line which provides free, consumer -run, peer
support telephone services that offers non -emergency, non -crisis support and referrals; and
Whereas, Jason has been instrumental and a guiding force in the creation of the Diverse Minds North State Journal, an
annual collection of artwork and writing from those with lived experience that displays the value of exploring, our psychological
diversity and is puiblished through the Iversen Wellness and Recovery Center; and
Whereas, Jason has worked as the Program Manager for the Iversen Wellness and Recovery Center for many years.
The Iversen Center is an exemplary example of a consumer -run wellness center created to serve those with mental illness by
providing the chance to work and develop the skills needed to pursue goals such as attending school or acquiring employment.
The Iversen Center also offers support through groups and socialization in an environment free from stigma and judgement;
and
WHEREAS, Jason has dedicated himself to promote mental health wellness and recovery for our Butte County residents,
spending countless hours within the scope of his, employment as well as evenings and weekends giving his time to provide the
message of recovery; and
WHEREAS, Jason has devoted his career to improving the lives of County residents through his tireless, focus on meeting
their needs through his work and by championing mental health wellness and recovery. He has passed on the core value of
wellness in keeping the dialogue of "there are no limits to recovery" going throughout our Butte County community; and
WHEREAS, Jason has worked diligently in the best interest of the County and its residents, earning the respect of his
colleagues, employees, consumers and the many residents served.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors, on its own behalf and on behalf of the
residents of Butte County, extends its appreciation for his many years of dedicated service.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this Ill' day of June, 2019, by the following vote:
