RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF THE CALIFORNIA CAREFORCE CHICO CLINIC
WHEREAS, Butte County suffered the worst wildfire in California history, displacing thousands ofresidents and
disrupting their access to dental, medical and vision health care; and
WHEREAS, asaresult ofthe recent wildfires, and other long-standing factors, Butte Cmunityhas some mfthe largest
concentrations of medically underserved: people in the nation; and
WHEREAS, many people in Butte County cannot afford access to basic preventative dental, medical and vision
WHEREAS, in accordance with the longstanding tradition of care, hunlanitairian spirit and generosity upheld by
our residents, the community comes together as one to lend a hand and add voices to the chorus of many who are
dedicated to these worthy cause; and
WHEREAS, no one person or organization can address the dental, medical and vision needs of the community,
and that it takes o cmUaborative approach with professionals, volunteers and hea:khcama organizations, such as The
Califormia Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Northern California Dental Society and CaUiformiaCoreForce.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors, hereby honor the California
Association ofOra| and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Northern California Dental Society and California CaneForcefor their
commitment and action, and do hereby recognize the Chico Clinic being held on August 3 and 4, 2019, at the Silver Dollar
Fairgrounds in Chico, California, and urge all residents VfButte County to support this effort, and to take advantage of all
free services offered tminclude denta|,medical, and vision care.
