HomeMy WebLinkAbout19-2041:140MI III drQ 0 1 "TIM I wi ILI reill I: I A a: F T, F� 61 A WHEREAS, Section 8-5 of the Butte County Code empowers the Chief Administrative Officer of the County of Butte to proclaim the, existence, or threatened existence of a local emergency when the County is affect, or likely to be affected, by a local emergency and the Board of Supervisors is not in session; and WHEREAS, the impacts to critical facilities and operations caused by the Public Safety Power Shutoff necessitates the proclamation of the existence of a local emergency; and WHEREAS, at the commencement of the local emergency the Board of Supervisors was not in session, and could not immediately be called into session; and WHEREAS, the Chief Administrative Officer of the County of Butte proclaimed the existence of a local emergency within the County of Butte on June 8, 2019; and WHEREAS, these impacts to critical County facilities and operations are, or are likely to be, beyond the control of the services, personnel, equipment and facilities of Butte County, especially with continued occurrences; and WHEREAS, impact to critical operations could lead to extreme peril to the safety of persons and property. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED, that the Proclamation of a Local Emergency with respect to the Public Safety Power Shutoff as issued by the Chief Administrative Officer on June 8, 2019, is hereby ratified and confirmed by the Butte County Board of Supervisors; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED AND ORDERED, that the County of Butte, at a future time and date, may need the State of California to make available assistance under the California Disaster Assistance Act, or any other State funding; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED AND ORDERED, that Cindi Dunsmoor, Emergency Services Officer of the County of Butte, is hereby designated as the authorized representative of the County of Butte for the purpose of receipt, processing, and coordination of all inquiries and requirements necessary to obtain available State assistance. vote PASSED AFDC► ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 11th day of June, 2019, by the following AYES: Supervisors Connelly, Lucero, Ritter, Teeter, and Chair Lambert NOES: ABSENT: ATTEST: Shari McCracken, Chief Administrative Officer and Clerk of the d of Supervisors Steve Lambe hair Butte County Board of Supervisors
