HomeMy WebLinkAbout19-206WHEREAS, Section 8-5 of the Butte County Code empowers the Chief Administrative Officer to proclaim the
existence, or threatened existence of a local emergency when said County is affected, or likely to be affected, by a local
emergency and the Board of Supervisors is not in session; and
WHEREAS, on February 14 through February 28, 2019, severe storms of rain, wind and snow, known as the
February 2019 Storms, hit in and around the County of Butte; and
WHEREAS, the February 2019 storms lead to the evacuation of residents and major damage to roads and other
critical infrastructure; and
WHEREAS, on February 28, 20,19, Butte County Chief Administrative Officer Shari McCracken proclaimed a Local
Emergency in Butte County, which declaration was ratified by the Board of Supervisors on March 5, 2019; and
NOWTHEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Proclamation of Local Emergency in Butte County due to the February
2019 Storms shall be deemed to continue to exist until its termination.
