BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AN "A-40"~AGRICUI,TURAL)
DISTRICT, PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 24-2g.

The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State
of California, under and pursuant to Chapter 24-29 of the Butte
County Code of said County DO ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1. The hereinafter described area situated in
the County of Butte, State of California, shall be and it is
hereby zoned as an "A-40" (Agricultural} District, and such area
shall be subject to the restrictions and restricted uses and
regulations hereinafter specified and provided.
Said area so zoned being located in the unincorporated
area of Butte County, Chico, more particularly described as follows
Sections 1 and 2 of T23N, R1W, MDB&M.
That portion of Sections 3, 4, 10, 11, 23 and 24
of T23N, R1W, MDB&M located east of State Hwy. 99-
That portion of the E 1/2 of Sec. 14, T23N, R1W,
MDB&M located east of State Hwy. 99.
All of Sec. 12, T23N, R1W, MDB&M except the S 1/2
of the SE 1/4 and the E 1/2 of the E 1/2 of the
SE 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of said Sec. 12.
The S 1/2 of the SE 1/4 and the N 1/2 of the S 1/2
of the NE 1/4 of Sec. 13, T23N, R1W, MDB&M.
That portion of Sec. 2~, T23N, R1W, MDB&M located
east of State Hwy. 99 and north of Meridian Road.
Sections 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 16, 17, 20 and 21 of T23N,
R1E, MDB8~M.
All of Sec. 1}, T23N, R1E, MDB&M except parcel 1
of that record of survey recorded in Map Book 61
on Page 35 in the Office of the Butte County
Recorder.
The N 1/2 and the SW 1/4 of Sec. 7, T23N, RIE,
i''IDB&M.
The S 1/2 of Sec. 18, T23N, RIE, MDB&M.
1 That portion of Sections 28 and 2g located earth
of Rack Creek.

That portion of Sec. 30, T23N, R1E, MDB&M located
3 east of Parcel 2 of ;that record of survey recorded
in Map Book 61 on Page 35 in the Office of the
4 Butte County Recorder, and north of Parcel 2 of
that parcel Map recorded in Flap Book 45 on Page 100
5 in the Office of the Butte County Recorder.
6 SECTION 2. REGULATIONS FOR AN "A-40" DISTRICT:
7 The following regulations shall apply in an "A-40"
~ District:
9 (~) USES PERMITTED:
10 1. One single-family" dwelling per parcel, including
I1 mobile homes.
12 2. General agriculture farming, horticulture,
1~ commercial livestock, poultry production, growing and
14 harvesting forestr~r products, warehousing and storage.
15 3, Accessory buildings and uses pertinent to the
16 permitted uses, including agricultural processing plants.
17 4, Housing facilities (including trailers) to
18 accommodate only employees and their families employed
19 by the owner or operator of the premises; and provided
20 further that such housa.ng facility shall be considered
21 accessary to the main building and shall conform to the
22 provisions pertaining to required yard and open space
23 for dwellings.
24 5. Mining, quarrying, commercial excavation and
2~ wood processing plants.

6. Hunting and fishing camps, including those which
accommodate recreational vehicles and travel trailers,
providing that said recreational vehicles and travel
trailers shall not be used for year-round occupancy.
(B) MINIMUM LOT ,AREA REQUIRED:
Minimum lot areas-shall not be less than fort' ~~40)
acres.
(C) FRONT YARD SE`IBACK:
Minimum front yard setback shall be fifty (50) feet
from the centerline of the road, except where the road
a.s classified by the County as a Federal Aid Secondary
Road, the minimum builda.ng setback requirements shall be
fifty-five (55) feet from the centerline of the road.
(D) SIDE AND REAR YARD REQUIRED:
Minimum side and rear yard shall not be less than
twenty-five (25) feet.
SECTION 3. All uses of land within the district not
specif~.cally authorized and permitted are prohibited.
SECTION 4. In compliance with the provisions of said
Butte County Code, Chapter 24, the same is hereby amended by adding
this Ordinance in full.
SECTION 5. The penalties for the violation of the
zoning hereby imposed within the district shall be as provided in
the Butte County Code, Chapter 24, this Ordinance shall from and
after its effective date became a supplement to .and part of the
Butte County Code, Chapter 24.

SECTION 6. This Ordinance shall be and it a~s hereby
declared to be in full force and effect from and after thirty {30)
da~rs after the date of its passage, and before the expiration of
fifteen {15) days after its passage, this Ordinance shall be
published once with the names of the members of the Board of
Supervisors voting for and against it in the Chico Enterprise
Record, a newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of
California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Butte, State of California, on the 16th day of May,
1g78, by the following vote:
AYES Supervisors Madigaa., Moseley Richter and Acting Chairman Lemke
