The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State
of California, under and pursuant to Chapter 24--29 of the Butte
County Code of said County DO ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1. The hereinafter described area situated in
the County of Butte, State of California, shall be and it is
hereby zoned as a "C-2" (General Commercial) District, and such
area sha11 be subject to the restrictions and restricted uses
and regulations hereinafter specified and provided.
Said area so zoned being located in the unincorporated
area of Butte County, Paradise, more particularly described as
follows:
Being a portion of the southwest quarter of
Sec. 12, T22N, R3E, MDB&M, and being mare
particularly described as follows:
Commencing at the northeast corner of the so~th-
west quarter of said Sec. 12; thence south 0
04' 17" west (basis of bearing is the north line of
the southwest quarter of said Sec. 12 as shown
on Parcel Map, recorded in Map Book 36, at
Page 93} along the east line of said southwest
quarter, a distance of 40.00 feet to the
southerly right-af-wary line of Wagstaff Road and
being the true paint of beginning for the
parcel of land hereinafter described; thence
continuing south 0° 04' 17" west, along said east
line, a distance of 981.02 ft.; thence south
89° 44' 10" west and parallel to the north line
of said southwest qu~rter, a distance of 623.34
feet; thence north 0 04' 17" east, and parallel
to the east line of said southw.~st quarter, a distance
of 252.40 feet; thence south 89'' 44' 10" west;
and parallel to the north line of said southwest
quarter, a distance of 369.42 ft-; thence along
the southeasterly line of Clary Road, a distance
of 370.5 feet; thence north 89 44! 10" east and
parallel to the north line of said southwest quarter
a distance of 564.7 feet, thence north 00° 04' 17"
east and parallel to the east line of said southwest
quarter a~ distance of 444.80 feet, more or less;

thence north 89° 4~-' 10" east, along said south
right-of-way line of Wagstaff Road, a distance of
255.0 feet, to the east line of said southwest
quarter being the point of beginning,
Containing 11 acres, more or less, Paradise.
SECTION 2. REGUI~A.TIONS FOR A "C-2" DISTRICT:
The following regulations shall apply in a "C-2"
(:A) USES PERMITTED:
1. Dwellings and dwelling groups, subject to the
building site area, lot width and yard requirements
specified for residential districts.
2. All uses permitted in "C-1°T (Light Commercial)
Districts.
3. General commercial uses including art shops, aviaries
bar and cocktail lounges, billiard parlors and pool
halls, bowling alleys, building material (retail},
cleaning and pressing establishments, dance halls,
interior decorating shops, employment agencies, govern-
mental legislative buildings, gymnasiums, public,
commercial or physical cul-L-~zral studios, hospitals,
hotels and motels, laboratories and x--ray facilities,
massage parlors and reducing salons, equipment rentals,
pet shops, used car lots, repair garages, auto car
washes, plumbing shops, cabinet shops, sign manufacturing
shops, and other retail establishments when interpreted
~~ :. as similar.

4. Accessory uses and buildings pertinent to a
permitted use.
{B} THE FOLLOWING USES SUB~EGT TO SECURING A USE PERMIT
IN EAGH EASE:
1. Welding shops.
2. Manufacturing of clothing, handicraft products,
printing, lithographing and other light manufacturing
or industrial-uses of similar character.
3. Public or quasi-public uses including churches.
4. Service stations, drive-in restaurants, kennels and
small animal hospitals and mortuaries.
(G) THE REQUIREMENTS OF SECTION 24-33 OF THIS GORE ARE
MODIFIED FOR ALL BUILDING SITES IN G--2 ZONES, IN THE
FOLLOWING PARTICULARS:
1, Lot width required
Minimwn lot width shall not be less than twenty-
five {~~} feet.
The lot width requirements for residential dwellings
shall conform to the requirements for any
residential zone,
2. Side yard requirements
None, except where the side of a lot abuts upon the
side of a lot in an T'R" District, in which case the
abutting side yard shall not be less than five {5}
feet; and except where the side yard on the street
side of a corner lot abuts on an "R" District, in

4 shall conform to the requirements for any residential

g 3. Rear yard required
7 None, except where the dear yard abuts an `tR"
g District, in wha.ch case the rear yard shall be not
g less than five C5) feet.
10 SECTION 3. All uses of land within the district not
ZZ specifically authorized and permitted are prohibited.
12 SECTION 4. In compla.ance with the provisions of said
I3 Butte County Code, Chapter 24, the same is hereby amended by
Z4 adding this Ordinance in full.
15 SECTION 5. The penalties for the violation of the
~g zoning hereby imposed within the district shall be as provided in
Z7 the Butte County Cade, Chapter 24, this Ordinance shall from and
18 after its effective date become a supplement to and part of the
19 Butte County Code, Chapter 24.
2p SECTION 5. This Ordinance shall be and it is hereby
2Z declared to be in full force and effect from and after thirty {30)
22 days after the date of its passage, and before the expiration of
23 fifteen (15) days after its passage, this Ordinance shall be
24 published once with the names of the members of the Baard of
25 Supervisors voting for and against it in the Paradise Post, a
26 newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of California.
