AN ORDINANCE ESTABLTSl'iING SPEED LIMITS ON CERTAIN ROADS
WITHIN THE COUNTX OF BUTTE, STATE 0~' CALIFORNIA

The Board of Supervisors of the County of Bette, State of California,
does ordain as follows:
Section l: Said Board finds and determines that upon the basis of an
en.gimeering and traffic survey, the Butte County highway hereinafter des-
cribed comes within the provisions of Section 22358 :of' the Vehicle Code of
the State of California, in that a speed limit of fifty-five (55) miles per
hour is more than is reasonable and safe on said highway and determines and
declares a prima facie speed limit on such Butte County highway as follows:
That a prima facie speed limit of twenty-five (25) miles per hour is
hereby determined, declared and established and that SPEED LIMIT 25 MILES
signs be placed at appropriate locations on the hereinafter-described County
highway to wit:
Elliott Road from Clark Raad to Sawmill Road.
Section 2: .All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
Sectionc3: The several. features, parts, provisions, sections and
terms of this q~d'a~azxc~ are hereby declared independent and severable and
the invalidity, if any, of any feature, part, provision, section ar term.
thereof, shall not affect the remainder of this ordinance, nor render the
same inoperative or invalid.
Section 4. The Department of Public Works of the County of Butte is
hereby directed to erect appropriate signs giving notice of the prima facie
speed limit established herein, within thirty (30) days of the adoption
hereof.
This ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days after its passage,
and before the expiration of fifteen (1S) days after its passage, it shall

be published with the names of the members voting for and against the same,
once in a local newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of
Ca I ii'ornia .
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte,
State of California, at the regular meeting hereof on. the 8th day
