BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, A "C-2" {GENERAL
COMMERCIAL) DISTRICT, PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 24-29.

The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State
of -California, under and pursuant to Chapter.. 24--29 of the .Butte-- -
County Code of said County DO ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1. The hereinafter described area situated in
''the County of Butte, State of California, shall be and it is
hereby zoned as a "C-2" (General Commercial) District, and such
area shall be subject to the restrictions and restricted uses
and regulations hereinafter specified and provided.
Said area so zoned being located in the unincorporated
area of Butte County, Durham, more particularly described as
follows:
A portion of section 30 T21N R2E MDB~M described as
beginning at a paint of the southerly line of Dur~~.am
Hwy, located N 86° 22' E 165.3 ft. from its inter-
section with the centerline of the Southern :Pacific
Railroad right-of-way; thence S 41° Ol' E, 781.0 ft.;
thence S 50° 26' 04" E, 256.84 ft.; thence N l6° 03'
30" W, 815 .2 S ft . to a point on the southerly 1 ine of
Durham H,,Ty.; thence s 86° 22' E, 485.83 ft, to the
true point of beginning .
Containing 5 acres, more ar less, Durham.
SECTION 2, REGULATIONS FOR A "C-2" DISTRICT.
The following regulations shall apply in a "C-2"
District,
- (A) USES PERMITTED:
1. Direllings and dwelling groups, subject to the
building. site area, lot width and yard requirements
specified far residential districts.
2. All uses permitted in "C-1" (Light Commercial)
Districts.

and pool halls, bowling alleys, building material.
(retail], cleaning and pressing establishments,
dance halls, interior decorating shops, employment
agencies, governmental legislative buildings,
gymnasiums, public, commercial. or physical cultural
studios, hospitals, hotels and motels, laboratories
and x~ray facilities, massage parlors and reducing
salons, equipment rentals, pet snaps, used car lots,
repair garages, auto car washes, plumbing shops,
cabinet shops, sign manufacturing shops, and other
retail establishments when interpreted as similar.
4. Accessory uses and buildings pertinent to a permitted
use.
{B] THE FOLLOWING USES SU$JECT TO SECURING A USE PERMIT
TN EACH CASE .
1. Welding shops.
2. Manufacturing of clothing, handicraft pxoducts,
.printing, lithographing and other light manufacturing
or industrial uses of similar character.
3. Public or quad.-public uses including churches.
4. Service stations, drive-in restaurants, kennels and
small animal hospitals and mortuaries.

(C) THE REQUIREMENTS OF SECTION 2~-33 OF THIS CODE ARE
IwIODIFIED FOR ALL BUILDING SITES IN C-Z ZONE.;. IN T~~E
FOLLOWING PARTICULARS:
1. Lot width required.
Minimum lot width shall not be less than twenty-five
(25) feet.
The Iot width requirements far residential dwellings
shall conform to the requirements for any residential
zone.
2. Side yard requirements.
None, except where the side of a lot abuts upon the
side of a lot in an "R" District, in which case the
abutting side yard shall not be Less than five (5)
feet; and except where the side yard on the street
side of a corner lat abuts an an "R" District, in
which case the side yard on the street side shall be
one-half the front yard required in such "R" District
The side yard requirements for xesidential dwellings
shall conform to the requirements for any xesidential
zone .
3. Rear yard required.
None, except where the rear yard abuts an "R"
District, in which case the rear yard shad not be
less than five [S) feet.
SECTION 3.; All uses of land within the district not
specifically authorized and permitted axe prohibited.

SECTION 4. In campliance with the provisions of sand
Butte- County- Code-,- Chapter 24-.,....the...-same is..hereby amended by adding
this Ordinance in full ,
SECTION 5. The penalties far the violation of the zoning
(hereby imposed within the district shall be as provided in the
Butte County Gode, Chapter 24.
SECTION 6, This Ordinance shall be and it is hereby
declared to be in full force and effect from and after thirty (30}
days after the date of its passage, and before the expiration of
fifteen (l S) days after its passage, this Ordinance shall be
published once kFith the names of the members of the Board of
Supervisors voting for and against it i.n the Chico Enterprise, a
newspaper°~ published in the Gounty of Butte, State of California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of-the
Count}r of Butte, State of California, on the 15th day of August,
1978, by the following vote:
