AN ORDINANCE ZONTNG A PORTION OF THE COUNTY OF
BUTTE, STATE OP CALIFORNIA, A "C-l" (LIGHT
COMMERCIAL) DISTRICT, PURSTTANT TO CHAPTER 24-29.
1 The Boand of Supervisors df the County of Butte, State
2 . of Cali.forni.a, under and- pursuant to Chapter..2:4-29 of the Butte
3 Cot~.ty Code of said County DO ORDAIN as follows:
4 SECTION 1. The hereinafter described area situated in
5 the County of Butte, State of California, shall be and it is
6 hereby zoned as a "G-1" {Light Commercial) District, and such.
7 area shall be subject to the restrictions and restricted uses
8 and regulations hereinafter specified and provided.
9 Said area so zoned being located in the unincorporated
ld area of Butte County, Chico, more particularly described as
Il follows:
l.2 The northerly 145 feet of Lots I and 2 of "Vista
Del Monte" subdivision per map of record in Aiap ,
13' Book l7 an Page 6 of the Butte County Recorder
I.4 Containing O,bO acres, more or less, Chico
15 SECTION Z. REGULATIONS FOR A "C-1" DISTRICT:
16 The following regulations shall apply in a "C-1"
17 District.
18 (A) USES PERMITTED:
19 1. Dwellings and dwelling groups, subject to the build-
2p ing area, lot width and yard requirements specified
21 far residential districts..
22 Z. Hotels and motels, clubs, lodge halls, hospitals,
23 sanitariums and clinics.
24 3. Retail stores and shops of light commercial character
25 and conducted ~ti~ithin a building, includin6 appliance
28 stores, banks, barber shops, beauty parlors, book

stores, cleaner ar laundxy agents and launderettes,
dress. sl~.o.ps., drug stoxes,..fo.o_d stores, furnitur._e..
stores, millinery shops, professional offices,
restaurants, shoe chaps, storage garages, studias and
tailor shop, public utility commercial. offices, and
ather uses which are of similar character to those
enumerated and which wi11 not be detrimental ar
obnoxious to the neighbarhoad in which they are to
be located.
4. Outdoor Advextising signs, new automobile sales and
theaters.
(B) TIIE FOLLOb+IING USES SUBJECT TO SECURRING A USE PERr:~TT
IN EACE~i CASE
1. Autamobile courts and mobile home parks.
Z. Public and quasi-public uses, including churches.
3. Small animal hospitals, dance academies, pet shops,
morturaries, used car sales, used ar secondhand goods,
refreshment stands, service stations, drive;--in
restaurants and othex uses which are of similar
character.
(C) The requirements of Section 24-~5 of this code are
modified in the following particulars for building
sites in C°°=1 zones:
1. Lot Width RecTuired:
P~linimum lot with shall not be less than twenty five

Z. Side Yard Requirements:
None, except when the side of a lot abuts upon the
53..de of a lot in an "R" District, in which case the
abutting side yard shah. i~ot be less than five (5)
feet; and except where the side yard on t~~e street
side of a corner lot abuts on an "R" District, in
which case the side yard an the street side shall be
one-half the front yard requixed in such "R" District.
The side yard requirements for residential dwellings
shall confoxn to the requirements for any residential
zone.
3. Rear Yard:
None, except z,~here the rear yard abuts an "R" District
in which case the rear yard shalt be not less than
five {5} feet,
SECTION 3. All uses of land within the district not
specifically authorized and permitted are prohibited.
SECTION 4. In compliance-~+=ith the provisions of said
Butte County Code, Chapter 2~, the same is hereby amended by adding
this Ordinance i~x full.
SECTION ~. The penalties for the violation of the
zoning hereby imposed within the district shall be as provided in
the Butte County Code, Chapter 24, this Ordinance shall from and

after its effective date become a supplement to and part of the

SECTION 5. This Ordinance shall be and it is hereby
declared to be in full force and effect from and. after thirty [30)
days after the date of its passage, and before the expiration of
fifteen {1 S) days after its passage, this Ordinance sh~.lJ, {be
published once i,~ith the names of the members of the Board of
Supervisors voting for and against it in the Chico Enterprise, a
neiaspaper published in the County of Butte, State of California.
