AN ORDINANCE ZONING A PORTION OP THE COUNTY OF
BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, A "G-]." (LIGHT
COMMERCIAL) DISTRICT, PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 24-29.

3 Code of said County DO ORDAIN as fallows:
4 SECTION 1. The hereinafter described area situated an
5 the County of Butte, State of California, shall be and it is hereby
6 zoned as a "G-1" (Light Commercial) Distract, and such area shall
7 be subject to the restrictions and restricted uses and regulations
8 hereinafter specified and provided.
9 Said area so zoned being located in the unincorporated
ld area of Butte Gounty, Oroville, more particularly described as
11 fallows:
12 That portion of Lot 7 of Black 5 of "Villa Verona" Sub
per wall map of record Number 12 of the Butte County Re-
13 corder located east of the centerline of Lincoln Blvd.,
west of the centerline. of Farley Street and south of
14 "Oakdale Heights, Unit No. 3" per map of record in map
book 22 on Pages 35 and 3b of the Butte Gounty Recorder,
15 that portion of Lots 2, 3, and 4 of Black 3 of said
"Villa Verona" Sub located east of the centerline of
16 Lincoln Blvd. and Lot 1 and 8 of Block $ of sand "Villa
Verona" Sub, excepting therefrom that portion of said Lot
lry 8 of Block 8 located within 1320 feet of the centerline
of Lincoln Blvd.
18 SECTION 2. REGULATIONS FOR A "C-1" DISTRICT:
The following regulations shall apply in a "C-1" District
19 (A) USES PERMITTED:
2p 1. Dwellings and dwelling groups, subject to the buildin;
21 area, lot width and yard rec~uarements specified for
82 residential districts.
23 Z. Hotels and motels, clubs, lodge halls, hospitals,
24 sanitariums and clinics.
25 3. Retail stores and shops of light commercial character
26 and conducted ~vithin a building, including appliance

stares, banks, barber shops, beauty parlors, book
2 stores, cleaner. or. laundry agents and launderettes,

dress shops, drug sores, food stores, furniture
4 stores, millinery shops, professional offices, rest-
s aurants, shoe shops, storage garages, studios and
g tailor shop; public utility commercial. offices, and
7 other uses which axe of similar character to those
g enumerated and which will not be detrimental or ob-
g noxious to the neighborhood in which bhey are to be
10 located.
11 4. Outdoor advertising signs, new automobile sales and
12 theaters.
13 (B) THE F'OLLOI~TNG USES SUBJECT TO SECURING A USE PERl~4IT

15 I. Automobile courts and mobile l~.ome parks.
lg 2. Public and quasi-public uses, including churches.
17 3. Small animal hospitals, dance academies, pet shops,
lg morturaries, used car sales, used or secondhand goods,
lg refreshment stands, service stations, drive-in rest-
20 aurants and other uses t~lhich are of similar character,
21 (C) The rEquirements of Section 24-33 of this code are

SECTION 3. All uses of land within the district not
specifically authorized and permitted are prohibited.
SECTION 4. In compliance with the .provisions of said
Butte County Code, Chapter 24, the same is hereby amended by adding
this Ordinance in full .
SECTION 5. The penalties for the violation of the
zoning hereby imposed within the district shall be as provided in
the Butte County Code, Chapter 24, this Ordinance shall from and

after its effective date become a supplement to and part of the
Butte.County Code, Chapter_,.24.
SECTION 6. This Ordinance shall be and it is hereby-
;declared to be in full force and effect from and after thirty ('~0)
days after the date of its passage, and. before the expiration of
fifteen (I 5) days after its passage, this Ordinance shall be
published once with the names of the members of the Board of
Supervisors eating fox and against it in the Oroville Mercury, a
newspaper published in .the County of Butte, State of California.
