AN ORDTNANCE ZONING A FORTTON OF THE COUNTY OF
BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AN "SR-1" (SUBURBAN
RESIDENTIAL) DISTRICT, PURSUANT TO CRAFTER 24-29.
1 The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
~ California, under and. pursuant tv..Chapter..24 -2.9 0~ the Butte County
3 Code of said County DO ORDAIN as follows:
4 SECTION ~.. The herein after described area situated in
~ the County of Butte, State of California, shall. be and it is hereby
6 zoned as an "SR-1" (Suburban Residential) District, and such area
7 shall be subject to the restrictions and restricted uses and re-
g gulations hereinafter specified and provided.
g Said area so zoned being located in the unincorporated
10 area of Butte County, Chico, more particularly described as follows:
11 The easterly 107.8 feet of Lot S, all of
Lot b and the westerly 369.75 feet of Lot
12 7 of "Holmes Tract" per map of record in Map
Book 6 on Fage 36 of the Butte County Re-
13 corder, excepting therefrom the easterly
79.02 feet of the southerly 1230.48 feet
14 of the above described ~=.parcel.
15 A1sa excepting any portion of the above
described parcel located within the "~'~atson
16 Sub " per map of record in Map Book 43 an
Page 96 of the Butte County Recorder.

Containing 25.7 acres, more or less, north of Chico.

lg SECTTON 2. REGULATIONS FOR AN "SR--1" DISTRICT:
20 The following regulations shall apply in an "SR-1"
21 District: .
22 {A) USES PERMITTED:
23 , ~ . One ,single -family dwelling per parcel , not including
24 tents, trailers or mobile homes.
g~ 2. Accessory buildings pertinent to the permitted uses.
2g 3. Agricultural uses excepting a minimum lot area of

43,560 square feet to be devoted to residential use

animal kept on the premises.
a. For each horse or head of cattle ox swine aver
one year of age - eight thousand one hundred
twenty-five {8,125} square feet .
b. For each sheep or goat - two thousand {2,000]
square feet.
4. The minimum lot area per dwelling unit shall not be
less than one acre, the provisions of Section 24-33
notwithstanding.
S. The minimum lot width shall not be less than one
hundred thirty (130} feet, the provisions of Section
24-33 notwithstanding.
{B) THE FOLLOWING USES SUBJECT TO SECURING A USE PERMIT
IN EACH CASE
1. Golf courses and country clubs.
2. Public and quasi-public-uses including churches,
firehouses, hospitals, parks and playgrounds, schools
and public utility buildings.
3. Sales tract. off ice.
(C) Section 24-33 shall apply excepting lot. width and lot
area.
SECTION 3. All uses of land within the district not
specifically authorized and permitted are prohibited.
SECTION 4. In compliance with the provisions of said

Butte County Cade, Chapter 24, the same is hereby amended by adding
.this. Ordinance .in full.
SECTION 5. 1'he penalties for the violation of the zoning
hereby impaled within the district Shall be as pxavided in the
Butte County Code, Chapter 24, this Ordinance shalt from and after
its effective date become a supplement to and part of the Butte
County Code , Chapter 24 .
SECTION 6. This Ordinance shall be and it is hereby
declared to be in full force and effect from and aftex thirty {30)
days after the date of its passage, and before the expiration of
fifteen {15) days after its passage, this Ordinance shah. be
published once with the names of the members of the Board of
Supervisors voting for and against it in the Chico Enterprise, a
newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Butte, State of California, on the 3Q. ~~ day of .lanuary
1979, by the following vote:
