AN URGENCY ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 24-21.33
0~' THE BUTTE COUNTY CODE RELATIVE TO PARKING SPACES
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
California,. DO ORDAIN, as follows:

Section 1. That Section 24-21.33 of the Butte County Cade
is hereby amended to read as follows:
§24-21.33. Parking space. An accessible and usable
paved or graveled space on a building site at least ten (10) feet
by tv,*enty (20} feet located off the street, but not occupying any
part of any required front yard or in the side yard or the street
side of a corner lot, with access of not less than twelve (12)
feet, for the parking of automobiles; provided, however, if the
lot is within a subdivision which has dedicated sixty (60) feet
street ~.mprovements to county standards, the area beyond the dedi-
cated street area of thirty (3Q) feet of the fifty (50) foot setback
may be considered as .parking area, provided it is accessible and
usable.
Section 2. .This urgency ordinance sha11 take effect
immediately upon its passage, and before the expiration of fifteen
(15) days after its passage shall be published once with the names
of the members of the Board of Supervisors voting for and against
the same in the Oroville Mercurv . _._ ___
I,a newspaper in general circulation in the County af_ Butte, State
lof California.
The facts constituting the urgency on which this
ordinance is based are: There is a critical shortage of moderately
priced housing in Butte County, and the change this ordinance
creates in parking space definition will allow construction of more

moderately priced housing, and will further facilitate financing
of moderately pr-iced-housing through .the.. Farmers Home, Administration
with special reference to Farmers Home Instruction 444.1.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors
this 27th day of March 1979 , by the following
vote:
