Findings. The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte do hereby find that small businesses conducted in the home provide significant income to the elderly, handicapped and other County residents; that home businesses increase financial in- ' dependence on government assistance and home-to-work transportation; and that home businesses can be allowed under certain conditions -'~9 without adversely affecting residential areas or the health, safety l,p and welfare of County residents.. 11 SECTION 2. Intent. The intent of this ordinance is to 12 allow home occupations in all zones where residences are permitted. ~3 SECTION 3. Definition. Chapter 24 of the Butte County 14 bode is hereby amended by the addition of the following section: 16 24-21-47 - HOP~~ OCCUPATTON - Any of the fallowing busi- 16 esses or services conducted on the premises by occupants~of resi- ~,'~ dential dwellings or mobile homes: Zg (a} Sale of agricultural goads produced an the premises. ~g (b} Tndoor display and sale of arts and crafts goods 20 produced on the premises, including pottery, 2I 3ewelry,. paintings, sculpture, furniture, photo- 22 graphs, leatherwoxk and similar objects. 2~ {c} .Professional offices and sexviceso_. 24 2g {d) Offices and services conducted primarily by mail or 26 - - - '_1- !II 1 tele_phane . 2 {e) Domestic services,-nel-uding laundry, ironing, sew- 3 ing and similar uses. 4 {f) Other services conducted within a residential dwell- 5 in g . 6 SECTION 4. Conditions: Chapter 24 of the Butte County 7 Cade 15 hereby amended with the addition o.f the following section: $ 24-200 HOhTE OCCUPATIONS ~ Notwithstanding any provision to the contrary in this 10 chapter, home occupations as defined in Section 24-21-47 are allowed 11 in all zones which a11ow dwellings and mobile homes except in cases 12 where such occupations are objectionable because of noise, odor, l3 smoke, dust, bright light, vibration, pollution, traffic congestion, 14 unsafe access, or the handling of explosives ox dangerous materials. 15 In such cases a use permit shall. be required. Zones. The provisions of this ordinance shall apply to the following zones: A-2 (General} A-2 Ltd. This Ordinance shall be and it is hereby , declared to be in full force and effect from and after thirty (30) 'days after the date of its passage, and before the expiration of fifteen (15) days after its passage, this Ordinance shall be publish ed once with the names of the members of the Board of Supervisors voting far and against it in the ~ Chico Enterpr~.se Record _, a newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of California.
