AN INTERIM ORDINANCE ZONING A PORTION OF THE COUNTY
OE BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AN "A-5" (AGRICULTUR~~}
DISTRICT
1 The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
_ 2 Cal ifornia,.under..and pursuant .to Chapter Z4.-3.0 of the.Butt.e .C.ount.y
3 Code, and declaring an emergency, DO:~:ORDAIN as follows:
4 SECTION 1. The hereinafter described area situated in
5 the County of Butte, State of California, shall be and it is hereby
g zoned as an "A-5" (Agricultural - 5 acre parcels) Distract for a
7 period of ~I~20,days;~ :.:~::: and such axea shall be subject to the
g restrictions and restricted uses and regulations hereinafter
g specified and provided.
14 Said area so zoned being located in Chico,mare parta-
11 cularly described as follows:
12 A protian of Sections 6, 7, 8, 17, ~ 18 of
T21N R2E MDBFM and Sections 1 and l2 of T21N

That property bounded on the W by the Midway;
lg on the S by Oroville Chico Highway; on the N
by the S line of that subdivision known as

revised map thereof per map of record in Map

Being located southeast o.f Chico and being
protian of Sections 5, 6, 7, ~ 8 in T21N R2E,
MDBFM, particularly deGribed as; Commencing
at the most easterly corner of the 2nd Sub
of the "J, P. Entler Ranch", according to the
revised Map thereof, on file in the office of
the County Recorder of the County of Btxtte,:..State
of California ~,rhich point is in the intersection
of the southerly line of said subdivision with
the southerly line of the right-of-way of the
Southern Pacific Railroad; thence S 56° 55' W
along the southeasterly line of said 2nd Sub.,

Parcel 2:
That property bounded on the N by Hegan Lane,
on the E by the Midway, on the 5 by an unnamed
stream described as Grassing Midway 2209 ft. S of
Entler Avenue and meandering southwesterly; and
on the W by the E line of "Bruce Tract" per map
of record in Map Book 8 on Page 15 of the Butte
County ReGOrder and its southerly extension, ex-
cepting therefrom the northerly 1909 ft. (parallel
to Hegan Lane} of that property located E of the
W line of "Skyway Homes, Unit 2" per map of record
in Map Book 21 on Pages 16 and 17 of the Butte
County Recorder, and its southerly extension.
Containing 1300 acres, more or less, Ghico.
SECTION 2. REGULATIONS POR AN "A-5" DISTRICT:
The following regulations shall apply in an "A-5"

(A) USES PERMUTED:. _ ._
1. One single-family dwelling per parcel, not including
tents, trailers ar mobile homes.
2. Accessory buildings pertinent to permitted uses.
3. Agricultural uses, except livestock subject to the
following requirements:
a. Exclusive of the area devoted to the residential
use, the following lot or parcel areas sha11 be
required for each animal raised or kept on the
premises:
1. For each horse ar head of cattle over one year
of age, eight thousand one hundred twenty-five
(8,125) square feet.
2. For each head of swine over ten (10} weeIcs of
age, eight thousand one hundred twenty-five
(8,125) square feet.
3. For each head of sheep or goats, two thousand
(2000) square feet.
(B) THE FOLLOWING USES ARE SUBJECT TO SECURING A USE
PERMIT TN EACH CASE:
1. Duplex dwellings and multiple-family dwellings.
2. Golf.courses, country clubs, if permitted, would
permit accessary uses such as driving range, pro shop,
cocktail bar, restaurant.

3. Public and quasi-public uses including churches, fire-
houses,. hospitals, .p.arks_ and playgrounds, ,schools, and
. public utility buildings.
4. Commercial poultry farming and livestock farming.
5. Veterinary clinics, outpatient.
6. Nurseries and plant gardens.
T. Sales tract office.
(C) Site requirements:
The provisions of Section 2~-33 shall apply.
SECTION 3. All uses of land within the distract not
specifically authorized and permitted are prohibited.
SECTION ~. In compliance with the provisions of said
Butte County Code, Chapter 24, the same is hereby amended by
adding this Ordinance in full.
SECTION 5. The penalties for the violation of the
zoning hereby imposed within the district shall be as provided in
the Butte County Code, Chapter 2Q~, this Ordinance shall from and
after its effective date become a supplement to and part of the
Butte County Code, Chapter 24.
SECTION b. This urgency ordinance shall take effect
!l immediately upon it s. passage, and before the expiration of_fif teen
(15] days after its passage shall be published ante with the,-names
of the members of the Board of Supervisors voting for ,and against
the same in the Chico Enterprise Record; a newspaper in general
circulation in the County of Butte, State of California. The facts
constituting the urgency on which this Ordinance is based are:
