AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SPEED LIMITS ON A CERTAIN ROAD
WITHIN THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
(Vehicle Code Section 22358)
1 The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California,
,_. 2 does ordain as follows:

3 Section l: Said Board finds and determines that upon the basis of an
4 engineering and traffic survey, the Butte Count? highway hereinafter des-
5 cribed comes within the provisions of Section 22358 of the Vehicle Code of
g the State of California, in that speed limit of fifty-five {55} miles per hour
7 is mare than is reasonable and safe on said highway and determines and declares
g a prima facie speed limit on such Butte County highway as follows:
g That a prima facie speed limit of thirty-five (35) miles per hour is
10 hereby determined, declared and established and that SPEED LIMIT 35 MILES
~]_ signs be placed at appropriate locations on the hereinafter-described County
12 highway to wit:
13 COHASSET ROAD from two miles south westerly of to faun miles north-
1,~ easterly of the southerly end of Vitas Road.
15 Section 2: A11 ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
lg are hereby repealed,
17 Section 3: The several features, parts provisions, sections and teams
18 of this ordinance are hereby declared independent and severable and the
19 invalidity, if any, of any feature, part,provisian, section or term thereof,
20 shall not affect the remainder of this ordinance, nor render the same
21 inoperative or invalido _ .
22 Section ~: The Department of Public Works of the Gounty of Butte is
23 hereby directed to erect appropriate signs giving notice of the prima facie
2¢ speed limit established herein, within thirty (30) days of the adoption hereof.
25 This ordinance shall. take effect thirty .(30) days after its passage,
26 and before the expiration of fifteen (15) days after its passage, it shall

be published with the names of the members voting for and against the same,
once in a local newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of
California .
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte,
State of California, at the regular meeting hereof on the 24th day of
July _ 1979 , by the folloc~ing vote:
AYES: Supervisors Dolan, Moseley, Wheeler, Winsfon and Chairman Lemtlte

ABSENT: None
NOT VOTING: None
