AN ORDINANCE ZONING A PORTION OF TI-~E COUNTY OF
BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, A "G-Z" (GENERAL
CO~~MERCIAL) DISTRICT, PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 24-29.
]. The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
2 California, under. and pursuant to. Chapter 2~-29 of the.Butte..County
3 Cade of said County DO ORDAIN as f allows:
4 SECTTON 1. The hereinafter described area situated in
5 the County of Butte, State of California, shall be and it is hexeby
6 zoned as a "C-2" (General Commercial) District, and such area shall
7 be subject to the restrictions and restricted uses and regulations
8 hereinafter specified and provided.

1Q area of Butte County, Chico, more particularly described as follows:
~1 Commencing at the most easterly coiner of the
parcel of land described in the deed from Evan
12 T. Thomas to Alfred J. Lister of record in Book
393, of Official Records, at page 362, records
13 of Butte County, California, at a point on the
Westerly line of State Highway, formerly Shasta
3.4 Road, distant thereof S 37° 22' E 940.7 ft. from
the point of intersection of said westerly line
15 with the southerly line of that certain County
Road known as Renshaw Avenue formerly Bay Lane

The following regulatians shall. apply in a "C-2"

4 1. Dwellings and dwelling groups, subject to the buildin
5 site area, lot width and yard requirements specified
g for residential districts.
q 2. All uses permitted in "C-1" (Light Commercial)
g Districts.
g 3. General commercial uses including art shops, aviaries
~p bar and cocktail lounges, billiard parlors and pool
11 halls, bowling alleys, building material (retail),
12 cleaning and pressing establishments, dance halls,
13 interior decorating shops, employment agencies,
14 governmental legislative buildings, gymnasiums,
15 public, commercial or physical cultural studios,
lg ]~:ospitals, hotels and motels, laboxatories and x-ray
~~ facilities, massage parlors and reducing salons,
lg equipment rentals, pet shops, used~car lots, repair
lg garages, auto car washes, plumbing shops, cabinet
20 shops, sign manufacturing shops, drive-in restaurants
2I and other retail establislunents ttiyhen interpreted as
22 similar.
23 4. Accessory uses and buildings pertinent to a permitted
24 use.

(C) THE REQUTREMENTS OF SECTION 2~-33 OF THIS CODE ARE
MODIFIED FOR ALL BUILDING SITES IN C-2 ZONE: IN THE
FOLLOtVING PARTICULARS:
1. Lot width required;
Minimum lot i~~idth shall not be less than twenty-five
(2 S) feet.
The lot width requirements for residential dwellings
shall conform to the requirements far any residential
zone.
2. Side yard requirements.
None, except where the side of a lot abuts upon the
side of a lot in an "R" District, in which case the
abutting side yard shall not be less than five (5}
feet; and except where the side yard on the street
side of a corner lot abuts on an "R" District, in
which case the side yard on the s-trees side shall be
one-half the front yard required in such."R" Dis~
trios, The side yard requirements fox residential

None, except where the-rear yard abuts an "R"
District, in which case the rear yard shall be not
less than five {5) feet.
SECTION 3. Ail uses of land within the district not
specifically authorized and permitted are prohibited.
SECTION 4. In compliance with the provisions of said
Butte County Code, Chapter 24, the same is hereby amended by adding
this Ordinance in full.
SECTION 5. The penalties for the violation of the zoning
hereby imposed within the district shall be as provided in the
Butte County Code, Chapter 24, this Ordinance shall from and after
its effective date become a supplement to and part of the Butte
County Code, Chapter 24.
SECTION 6. This Ordinance sha11 be and it is hereby
declared to be in full. force and effect from and after thirty (3 D)
days after the date of its passage, and before the expiration of
fifteen (15) days after its passage, this Ordinance shall be
published once with the names of the members of the Board of
Supervisors voting for and against it in the Chico Enterprise, a
newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of California.

County of Butte, State of California, on the 7th day of August
1979, by the f allowing vote:
