AN.ORDINANCE ZONING A PORTION OF THE COUNTY OF
BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, A '~~I-2" (HEAVY
INDUSTRIAL) DISTRICT, PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 24-29.
The Baard of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
Cal ifarnia, under and pursuant to Chapter 24-29 of the Butte County
;Cade of said County DO ORDAIN as follows:

the County of Butte, State of California, shall be and it is hereby
zoned as a "~T--2" (Heavy Industrial) District, and such area shall
be subject to the restrictions and restricted uses and xegulations
hereinafter specified and provided,
Said area sa zoned being located in the unincorporated
urea of Butte County, Chica, mare particularly described as follows:

SECTION 2, REGULATIONS FOR A "M-2" DISTRICT:
The following regulations shall apply in a "r:i-2" District:
(A} USES PERMTTTED:
1. Any uses permitted in ~'ri-1 Districts.
2. Aircraft factories, manufacturing of asbestos, assay-
ing, boiler works, breweries and distilleries, candle
manufacturing, carbon manuf acturing, cellulose ma-
terials manufacturing, chain and cable manuf acturing,
disinfectants manufacturing, dry kilns, emery cloth
and sandpaper manufacturing, enameling, feed and
cereal mills, foundries, freight terminals, galvaniz
and lead plating, glass or glass product manufacturing
lampblack manufacturing, machinery manufacturing, soda
and cleaning compound manuf acturing, mach manufactur-
ing, metal fabrication, oilcloth or linoleum mantif~ac't~ur-
ing, oxygen manuf acturing, paint manufacturing, paper

box manufacturing, petroleum distributing stations
- {wholesale or retail)., plywood manufacturing, print-ing
ink manufacturing, railroad yards or roundhouses, rope
manufacturing, soap and soap compound manuf acturing,
starch, glucose or dextrine manufacturing, vegetable
oil manufacturing, welding shops and sheet metal shops,
woad planing mill or ~~voodworking plants, yeast plants
and other similar industrial enterprises or businesses
in character to those enumerated when interpreted as
similar by the planning commission.
3. Canneries, alive processing plants and other agricul-
tural processing plants of similar nature,
4. Accessory uses and buildings permitted pertinent to
any permitted use.
(B) THE FQI,LOWTNG USES ARE PERMITTED SUB,3ECT TO THE SEGURI
DF A USE PERMIT TN EACH CASE:
1, Any residential use.
2, Commercial distillation of bones, abattoirs, auction
yards, commercial livestock feed yards, commercial mil -
ings, canneries;.lumber.and~~l~mber processing, tan-
neries, fat rendering, garbage-fed commercial hag rais-
ing, food and agriculture product processing plants.
3. Storage of inflammables. .
~. Dumping and disposal areas.
5, Manufacturing of acids, explosives, fertilzer, glue,
gypsum, lime, plaster of Paris, pulp and paper, beet

sugar, crushed rock, sand and gravel, cement, concrete

b. Industrial Uses which might be objectionable by reason
of emission of noise, offensive odox, snake, dust,
bright light, vibration or involving the handling of
explosives or dangerous materials.
7. Junkyards and auto wrecking yards.
(C) Site Requirements: The requirements of Section 24-33
of this Gode are mvdif ied for all building sites in M2
zones in tl~e following particulars;
1. Lot area and width:
There is no lot area minimum nor lot ~Lridth minimum
except as may be required for the building and parking.
Z, Side Yard:
None, except where the side of a lot abuts an '"R"
district, in which case the side yard shall be not less
than five (5) feet.
3. Rear Yard:
None , except ~vhere the rear yard abuts an ~` "?R" district
in which case the rear yard shall be not less than five .
(5) feet.
4, Truck loading and unloading space:
Private off-street loading space for the handling of
all goods, materials and equipment shall be provided.

S. Off-street parking:
One parking space far each. three {3) employees, ar one
parking space for each two thousand {2,000) square feet of
grass Haar space , i~rhichever is greater .
SECTION 3. All uses of land within the district not
specifically authorized and permitted are prohibited.
SECTION 4. In compliance with the provisions of said
Butte County Cade, Chapter 24, the same is hereby amended by adding
(this Ordinance in full.
SECTION 5. The penalties for the violation of the zoning
hereby imposed within the district shall be as provided in the
Butte County Code, Chapter 24, this Ordinance shall from and after
its effective date become a supplement to and part of the Butte
County Cade, Chapter 24.
SECTION 6.'"This Ordinance shall be and it is hereby
declared to be in full. force and effect from and after thirty {30)
days after the date of its passage, and before the expiration of
fifteen {I S) days after its passage, this Ordinance shall be
published once with the names of the members of the Board of
Supervisors voting for and against it in the Chico Enterprise P~ecord
a newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of California.
