AN ORDINANCE ZONING A PORTION OF TI-IE COUNTY OF BUTTE,
STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AN "R-4" (~iAXI~4UM DENSITY RESIDENTIAL- ~
RESTRICTED SERVICE) DISTRICT, PURSUANT TO CIIAPTER 24-29. ':.
1 The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
2 California , under and pursuant to ..Chapter 2.4.-.2.9 of the.. Butte .County
3 Code of said County DO ORDAIN as follows:
4 SECTION I, The hereinaf ter described area situated in
5 the County of Butte, State of California, shall be and it is hereby
g zoned as an "R-4" (I+~Iaximum Density Residential-Restricted Service)
7 District, and such area s~~all be subject to the restrictiar_s and
8 restricted uses and regulations hereinafter specified and provided.
g Said area so zoned being lacated in the unincorporated
~p area of Butte County, Chico, mare particularly described as fallaws:
11 That portion of Lat 9 of Esmeralda Tract, per
map of record in map book 1 on page 33 in the
~2 office of the Butte County Recorder located -
west of State Highway 99,

Containing 5 acres, mare or less., Chico

15 SECTION 2. REGULATIONS FOR AIV "R-4" DISTRICT:
16 The following regulations shall apply in ~ "R-4" District.
17 (A) USES PERMITTED:
18 1, One-family dwellings, twa-family dwellings and multi-
I9 ple-family dwellings, not including tents, trailers ar
20 mobile homes.
2l - 2. Professional and business offices (including but not
22 limited to dactors, lawyers and accountants), rest
23 homes, convalescent homes or homes far the aged and
24 sanitariums.
25 3. Accessory buildings pertinent to the permitted uses.

4. Household pets (but not including livestock, poultry

(B) THE POLLO~'~ING USES ARE PERI+~iITTED SUBJECT TO SECURING
A USE PERRiIT IN EACH CASE
1. Golf courses and country clubs.
2. Public and quasi-public uses including churches, fire-
houses, hospitals, parks and playgrounds, schools and.
public utility buildings.
3. Sales tract office.
(C) THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 24-33 SHALL APPLY.
SECTION 3. A11 uses of land tivithin the district not
specifically authorized and permitted are prohibited.
SECTION 4. In compliance with the provisions of said
Butte County Code, Chapter 24, the same is hereby amended by adding
Ithis Ordinance in full.
SECTION ~. The penalties for the violation of the zoning
hereby imposed within the district shall be as provided in the
Butte County Code, Chapter 24, this Ordinance shall from and after
its effective date become a supplement to and part of the Butte
Couzity Code, Chapter 24.
SECTION 6. This Ordinance shall be and it is hereby
declared to be in full-force and effect from and after thirty (30)
days after the. date of its passage, and before the expiration of
fifteen (15) days after its passage, this Ordinance shall be
published once with the names of the members of the Board of
Supervisors voting fox and against it in the Chico Enterprise Record
