OFF-STREET PARKING
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of

Section 1. That X24-35 of the Bute County Code is
hereby amended to read as follows:
X24-35. Off-Street Paxking.
DEVELOPMENT STANDARDS
{a) Surfaci~
Minimum requirement dust pallative treatment.
{b) Road Access and Draina e
Road access and drainage for all parking facilities
shall be per requirements of the Department of Public Works.
{c} Lighting_
Any lighting used to illuminate off-street parking
areas shall be dir~c~ed and maintained so as not to interfere with
persons using any public street or improvement ox to unnecessarily
interfere with the use and enjoyment of property of any person.
{d) Signs
Directional signs are permitted on parking areas.
(e) Screening and Landscapin
A1. open au omob~e png areas that contain mare
than faux {4) parking spaces and which abut upon a public street
right-of-taay shall provide landscaping to a depth of at least ten .
(1Q) feet of said street right-of-way with openings for Walkway or
drive purposes in accordance-w~.th County standards. An additional
five {5} percent of the gross lot area shall be devoted to Land-
scaping. Surround each planter area with a six {6) inch raised
concrete cuxbing ar equivalent. Install an .irrigation system in

(f) Fencing
A solid fence at least six (b) feet in height shall

(h) Repair and Service
Na commercial motor vehicle repair work of any kind
shall be permitted within any required off-street parking area. The
sale of gasoline, motor oil or any other merchandise is also pro-
hibited within any required pff-street parking area.
{i) Location of Accessory Off-Street ,Parking Facilities
The location of off-street parking and garage spaces
shall be located an the same lot ar parcel as the use served except
~s otherwise provided in this Ordinance,
{j) Existin Parkin and Loadin Facilities
Accessory off-street parking-and loading facilities
rhich are located on the same'lot or parcel as the building or use
served and which were in existence on the effective date of this
}rdinance, or were provided voluntarily after such effective date,
shall not hereafter be reduced beloYa or if already less than, shall
-ot further be reduced below the requirements of this Ordinance far

Off-Street parking facilities may be provided

5 (l) Computation
g When determination of the number of off-street parki
~ spaces required by this Ordinance results in a requirement of a
g fractional space, any fraction of one-half (1/2} or less may be
g disregarded while a fraction in excess of one-half (l /2) shall be
1D counted as one parking space. Each space shall be individually
11 accessible.
12 (m) Permissive Parkin and Loadin Facilities
13 Nothing in this Ordinance shall prevent the voluntary
14 establishment of off-street parking or loading facilities in excess
15 of the requirements of this Ordinance to serve any existing use of
16 land ar buildings,-provided that all regulations herein governing
17 the location, size and access design, improvement and operation of
18 such facilities are adhered ta.
19 (n) Use of Parkin and Cara a Facilities

When two or more uses are located on the same zoning

plot or within the same building, parking spaces equal in number
to the sum of the separate xequirements for each such use as re-
quired by the subject zoning distract shall be required. No park-
ing space or portion thereof shall serve as required space for more
(than one use,
(p} Handica ed Persons Parkin
Off-street parking for Handicapped persons shall be
provided in accordance with the recommendations of the Office of
State Architecture regulations as follows: Number of Paxking space

lineated) plus 1 for every additional 40 parking
spaces or fractions thereof;
101-200, 4 parking spaces for handicapped persons so adept

(q) Other Uses

the most similar listed use, as determined by the Planning Director.
In the event that "Public Transportation", "Park and
Ride Lats" ar "Van-Fooling" is available, off-street parking re-
quirements may be modified to lesser standards if approved by tha

PARKING REGULATIONS
Off-Street Parkin
[a) Purpose
To alleviate or prevent congestion of the public
streets, and to promote the safety and welfare of the public by
establishing minimum requirements far the off-street parking and
loading of motor vehicles, in accordance with the use to which
property is put.
[b) Sca a of R~ ulations
The vff-street parking and loading provisions of this
~~Ordinance shall apply as follows:
1. When the intensity of use by any building,
structure or premises shall, be increased through addition of dwell-
ing units, gross floor area, seating capacity or other units of
measµrement specified herein for required parking or loading faci-
lities, parking and loading facilities as required herein shall be
~Iprovided far such increase in intensity of use.

Automobile Service Stations:

Automobile, Boat, Mobile Home, Trailer Sales ar Rental:
One (1) space for each four hundred (40Q) square feet
of gross floor area plus one (1) reserved space for each two (2)
employees; but in no case less than six (b) spaces.
Bowl in All e s
Five (5) spaces for each alley plus additional spaces
as may be required herein for accessory uses such as restaurants,
bars, and the like.
Cemeteries; mausoleums:
As specified in Use Permit approval.
