The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
California,- DO ORDAIN;...as fo1-lows: __...._~_. ..... _~.... __.
Section 1. That Section 14-48 is hereby added to the
Butte County Code to read as follows:
§14~-48. Commercial vehicles having a grass vehicle
weight rating of 10,000 pounds or more may not be parked in a
residential area, as defined in this section, between the hours
of 10:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. Provided, however, that this
prohibition shall not apply to any commercial vehicle making
pickups or deliveries of goods, wares, and merchandise from or
to any building or structure located in a residential area,
for the purpose of delivering materials to be used in the actual
and bonafide repair, alteration, remodeling, or construction of
any building or structure in a residential area for which a
building permit has previously been obtained. A residential area
is defined as that portion of a highway and the property con-
tiguous thereto other than a business district, as defined by the
Vehicle Code of the State of California, upon one-.side of which
highway, within a distance of one-fourth {?4) mile, the contiguous
property fronting thereon is occupied by thirteen (13) or more
separate dwelling houses or upon both sides of which highway,
collectively, within a distance of one-fourth (a) mile, the
contiguous property fronting thereon is occupied by sixteen.(1.6)
or more separate dwelling houses. A residential area may be
longer than one-fourth {4) mile.

Section 2. This ordinance sha11 be and it is hereby

(30) days after the date of its passage, and before the expiration
of fifteen (15) days after its passage, this ordinance shall be
published once with the names of the members of the Board of
Supervisors voting for and against it in the Chica Enterprise
Record, a newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of j
California,

County of Butte, State of California., this 1.8~h day of
November, 1980, by the fallowing vote:
