BUTTE COUNTY ORDINANCE 2103
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SPEED LIMITS ON CERTAIN ROADS
WITHIN THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California,
does ordain as follows:
Section l: Said Board .finds and determin`e~s that upon the basis of an
'engineering and traffic survey, the Butte County highways hereinafter des-
cribed come within the provisions of Section 22358 of the Vehicle Code of
the State of California, in that speed limit of fifty-five (55) miles per hour
is more than is reasonable and safe on said highways and determines and
declares a prima facie speed limit on such Butte County highways as follows:
That a prima facie speed limit of Twenty five (25) miles per hour is
hereby determined, declard and established and that SPEED LIMIT 25 MILES signs
~be placed at appropriate locations on the hereinafter-described county highways
4to wit:
FORAL AVENUE from EAST AVENUE to north end
CERES AVENUE from EAST AVENUE to north end
NORTH AVENUE from EAST AVENUE to north end
Section 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed,
Section 3: The several features, parts, provisions, sections and
terms of this ordinance are hereby declared independent and severable and the
linvalidity, if any, of any feature, part, provision, section or term, thereof,
Ishall not affect the remainder of this ordinance, nor render the same inopera-
~tive or invalid,
Section 4: The Department of Public Works of the County of Butte is
hereby directed to erect appropriate signs giving notice of the prima facie
speed limits established herein within thirty (30) days of the adoption hereof.

This ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days after its passage,
and before the expiration of fifteen (15) days after its passage,- it shall be
published with the names of the members voting for and against the same,
once in a local newspaper published in the Cou my of Butte, State of California.
PASSED AND ADOP'BED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte,
State of California, at the regular meeting thereof on the ,_,_ ?_nd day of
December , 1980, by the following vote:
