1 BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
2 COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
3 RESOLUTION RE ASSEMBLY BILL 430
'~ WHEREAS, Assembly Bill 430 now being considered by the
5 Legislature of the State of California concerns the veto power
$ of County Supervisors to antlerless deer hunts; and
7 WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Board of Supervisors
8 of the County of .Butte to have the right ~:of veto over any
9 antlerless deer hunt in the County of Butte for the reason that
10 in the deer area of the County of Butte there are many homes
11 and dwellings, and in some portions thereof, such as Paradise
12 and Wyandotte, the area is quite populous; and
13 y~ERFA:R, antlerless deer frequent said populous areas,
14 the hunting of such deer in said areas would be detrimental
15 to the peace, health and safety of those residents of the
16 County of Butte residing therein;
17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
18 of the COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, as follows:
19 1. 'c`hat Assembly Bi11 430 be amended to include the
20 County of Butte as being one of those counties to have the
21 permanent power to veto antlerless deer hunts within its
22 boundaries.
23 2. That a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to
24 Senator Paul L. Byrne, Assemblyman Harold T. Sedgwic]c,
25 Assemblywoman Pauline L. Davis',and to any and all other persons
26 designated by the Chairman of this Board.
27 The foregoing, Resolution was introduced by Supervisor
28 Alldredge who moved its adoption, seconded by
29 Supervisor Steinegger , and said Resolution
30 v, as ,passed this 27th day of February, 1961, on roll call by
31 the following vote:.
