5ection 5. That Chapter 19-1~ af the Butte County Code is hereby
amended to read as follows:
Section 19-14. Connectaon to sanitary sewers.
{a) A building served by an existing sewage dispasal sy5tem
creating an unsanitary conditian may be repaired if t~e Health Officer
deter~ines that such repazrs can be madE nn the same parcel on which the
building is located and that ~he system, as repaired, will elam~nate the
unsani~ary condition. If such repairs cannot be made, then the building
shall be cannected to a public sa~itary sewer wath a separate connection
for each buil~ing.
(b} Every build~ng whic~ is to be cons~ructed shall be
connected ta a publa.c sanitary sewer with a separate connection for eaeh
~uilding i.f alJ. the following condi~.~ans exist:
'!. The lo~. or parcel of land upon which the building
is to be or is located abuts a street or alley in whi.ch there is a public
sana.tary sewer and t1~e b~ilding is within twa hunc~red and fi~'ty feet of a
publa.c sanitary sewer.
2. A right of way can be obtained.
3. Tf~e necessa~y gra~ient is present.
4. The owner of' the ~uilding may lawfully connect to
the sana~.ary sewer upon proper aPplication and payment nf ~he required fees.

1 {e) When a prop~sed subd~vision is located within a reasanabie
2 distance of an existing public sanitary sewer system an~ it is practicable
3 and feasible far the s~bdivision to be connected to and be se~ved by the
4 same, the Heai~h Officer may require that ~he said subdivision be provided
~ with an adequate system of sewer lines and that the sy5tem of sewer lines
g be connected ~o the afaremention~d publ~c sanitary sewer system.
7 • As used in this seetion the word subdivision shall have
g ~he~same meaning as in chapter 20~ relating to subdavisions.
