Sugervisors of t~e County of Butte and tha Boazd of .Administration, California
Public ~np~oyees' Retirement System is hereby authorized, a copy' of said
amendment being attached hereto, marked "Exhibit A", and by such re~erence

2. F'ublic .Ag~ncy shall part ioi.pate in the Public Employees ~ Retirement
System from and after April 1, 19~5 making its empl.oy~es as
hereinaf ~er provided, members of said System subject ta a1.1 provis~.ons
of '~he Pub~ic Er~p].oyees~ Retirement Law exeept such as apply on~.Y on
eiectian o#' a contracting ageney and are not pro~ided far herein and
to aJ.~ amendments to said Law hereaf~er enact~d except those, which by
express pro~risions ~hereof, apply only on ~he electian of a contrac-.
t~.ng agency.
3. Emplayees of Public Agency in the fo1.~.ow3ng classes sha11 become
members of sa~d Retirement Systiem exce~t such in each such class as
are excluded by 7,aw or this agreement;
a. Local Fire Figh~ers (herein referred to as Iocal safety members);
b. Countp Peace OFficers (inc.LUded as 1oca1 safety members);
c. Employees ather than loca). saf~ty members (herein re#'erred to as
~.ocaZ miscellaneous members).

4. In additian ta the elasses of employees exe].uded from membership by
said Retirement Law, the followi.ng classes of emp~.oyees shall not
become me¢~bers of said Retirement System:

HIRID ON OR AFTER QCTOBER 1, 1968.

lanEOUS members for each year of credi~ed prior and current servic~
sha11 be determined in accordance wi~h Section 2125~.13, subjec~ to
~hE reduo~a.on provided therein far service on and af ter January 1,
1956 for members whase service has been inc.iuded in Federal Social
5ecurity (2~ at age bD Fu1I and Modi.f~ed).
6. The fractian of final co~pensa~ion ~o be pravided fvr eaoh year of
credited prior and curren~ service as a loca7. safe~y me~ber sha11 be
determined in acoordance Wl~h S2C~lpp 2i252.b of said Re~~.remen~ Law
subject to i~he reduction provided therein for Federal Social 5ecuri~y
(Z~ at age 55 Modifiea).
7. The fol7.owing additional provisions of the Public Employees'
Re~irement Law, which apply only upan eleotion of a contracting
agency, shall apply to ~he Public Agenay and its emplayees:
a. Section 2~p21.6 ("County Peace Officer" sha11 includ~ any
constable, deputy aonstaiale, [narshal and deputy marshal as
described in Gavernmen~ Code 5eetion 20021.6).

repealed said Sec~ion effective danuary 1, 19$Q.
c. Section 21222.2 (Speaial 5~ Increase - 1971). LegisZation

d. A reasonable a~ount, as fixed by the Baard, payable in one in-
stallmen~ as the occasions arise, to cover ~he costs of special
valuations on account of emplayees of Public Agency, and casts of
the geriodio investigation and valuations required by law.
9D. Contiributions requ~red of P~b1ic Ageney and its emp~oyees shall be
s~bject to ad~ustment by Board on account of amendments to the Public
Employees' Retirement Law, and an account of the exgerience und~r th~
Re~irement System as determined by ~he periodie investigation and
