7he ~aard of S~pervisors of the County of Butte, State
of Californ~a DO ORDAIN, as foliaws:
Section ~. That Sec~ian 3 af Qrdinance 2fl4~ Ts hereby
amended to read as fo7~ows:
§3. The County of Su~f.e shall pravide ~ranspartatian
far the members of the 8oard of Supervisors for attendance to a~~
county related activ~ties and events. P1em~ers of the Baard may,
at their discret~on, select ane of the follawing alternatives as
and for a transpor~ation a~lo~~rance.
1. 7he Ca~nty shall suppTy a coun~y-owned veh~cle
to the Baard me~ber, and ~he county sha1T be responsible far all
costs relative ta that vehic~e. Pravided fur~her, hawever, that
this vehicle only be used ~n the course of canduct of bus3~ess
of the county except ~or deminimis personal use unTess personal
mileage is logged and re~mbursed to ~he Auditor-Controller at the
rate of 25~ per mile. When ~he county-awned veh~c1e is not avai7ab7e
due ta maintenance, repairs, ar other reasons, a Board member
electing ~his option may ~e reimbursed during ~hat time far the,:'-
use of his/her own vehicle at the rate of 25~ per mile.
2. A Board member may utilize his/her o~n vehicle
and shall be re~mbursed at the rate of 25~ per m~le travel on co~nty
' 6usiness during the month. In addition there~o, the Board m~~bers
shall be co~pensated pursuant to S~reets & Wighways Cade Section
2010 .
3. ~'he County shall supply a leased vehic~e for
the Baard member. Said vehicle shall be selected ~y the Board

~ me~ber a~d the county shall be responsible for aTl costs relative

3 onl,y be used in the course of conduc~ of business of the caunty

fi 25¢ per m~Ze. T~e monthly lease paymen~s shal~ be l~mited to ~a
7 ~ore than $375 per mont~. If the 7eased vehicZe is no~ available
8 due ta maintenance, repairs, or other reasons, the Board member
9 eTec~ing this option may be reimbursed far uti~ization a~ his/her
10 oti~~n vehicle at the ra~e of 25~ per miTe traveled on coun~y bus~ness.
Z~ 4. R Board member may receive $400 per month for
~2 trans~ortation casts insid~ ~he cau~ty. ~or any officia7 trips
13 ou~side the caunty in which a Board me~ber utilizes his/her ot~n
i4 pr~vate vehicle, he/she sha~l be entitted to additiona7 reimburs~ment
~5 a~ a rate af 25~ per mile for ~ileage traveTed outside the caunty.
16 §4. Each Soard member must select priar to the adoption
~7 of the budget for each y~ar at the commencement of his/her term
18 ~ar the rema~nder of tha~ fisca7 .year the alter~ative mileage
19 a7~owance s,ystem that -~i7T be ut~l~zed during fiscal ,vear. Prior
20 to the effective date af this ordi~a~ce, ~ncum6ent Board members
2~ sha17 desiqnate the aTternative method of the~r chaice.
22 §5. Indivtd~al 8oard members who have selected alternative
23 No. 4 sha7~ be pa~d the $400 initia~Ty on ar about t~e effective
24 date of this ard~nance providing they ~ave not previously received
25 an alloti~a~ce for the manth t~is ordinance is effective, and
26 thereafter month7y.

1 §6. Each member o~' the Soard wi~l comp~y with ~he County's
2 ~oTic~es and procedures regard~ng insurance requirements.
3 §7. In addit~on to Items 1- 4, each member of ~he Board
4 of Supervisors shall be reimbursed for actual and necessary expenses
5 incurred in ~he course of offic~a~ county btasir~ess, ~ncTuding mea7s
6 and Zodging and a~l o~her actual and necessary expenses, inc7uding
7 any transpor~a~ion expenses not included above, which sha7~ be
S incurred by them.
g Section 2. Th~s ordinance sha71 talce effect an
~p March 26, 1988 , 1988 which is 60 days after the date of ~~s
Z1 adaption, ar~d before the expiratior~ af 15 days after ~ts passage.
