The Board of Supervisors o~ ~he County o~ Bu~te, State of Ca~.ifo~nia,
does orda~.n as follows:
Scctian l: Said Board ~inds and determines that upon the basis of an
eng~.neering and traf£ic survey, the B~t~e County highways.here~.nafter descrihed
come within ~ne pravisions of Section 2235$ of the Vehi.cle Code of the State
of California, in tha~ a speed limit o~ fifty-~ive {55) m~~.es per haur is more
than is reasonable and safe on said highways and de~ermines and ~cc~az'es a
p~ima facie speed limit on such Butte County highways as ~ollows:
That a prima ~ac~.e sgeed limit o~ thirty-five (35} mi~.es per hour is
'hereby detexm~,ned, declared and established and ~hafi SPEED LTMIT 35 MILES
I signs be placed at appropriate locations on the hereinafter-described County
~ highway ~o wit:

Section 3: The several features, parts, provisions, sectians and
terms n~ this ordinance are hereby declared independent and severab~.e and
the invalid~ty, ~~ any, of any f~ature, part, provisian, sec~ion or term
~t~e~'eof, shall not affect tk~e xemain.der of this o~'d.a.nance, nor rendc~r ~he
same inopera~i~re or invalid.
Section 4: The Depa.rtment of Puh~.ic Warks of the County o~ Butte
is hereby directed to erect app~'opriate signs giving no~~.ce of the prima
facie speed 7.imi~s estahl~shed hcrein. w~.thin thirty (30) days of the adoptian
~~ l~ereof,
Th~.s ordinance shal~ take e~fect thirty (30) days after its passage,

and before the expirat~on of fifteen (15} days after i~s passage, it shall be
pub~ished w~~h t~e names D~ ~~E members voting ~or and against the same, once
in a Iocal newspaper published in the County o~ Bu~~e, State af Ca~ifornia.

State of California, at the regular ~eeting ~hereo~ on the 28th
