2 AN 4RDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2252 OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE,
KNOWN AS THE "SALARY ORDINANCE"

7 Butte entitled WELFARE (ADMINISTRAT~ON) ~~o-ooi is hereby amended by
$ adding thereto the fo~lowing:

i2 thereby changing the total from 282 ta 288.
I3 Section 2. This ordinance shall lapse and be o~ no further force or
14 effect as to any position added hereby when such pasi~ian has been
15 superseded by implementation o~ the reorganiza~ion p~an cantained in
16 Ordinance No. 2693,
17 Section 3. Subsection A. Tha.s ordinance is an emergerzcy ordinance for
18 ~h~ immediate preservation of the public peace, hea~.th, and sa~ety,
I9 and shal~ ~ake eFfect immedaa~.ely pursuant to Section 253.23 of the
20 Gov~rnment Code o~ the State of California. The facts constituting
21 the urgency are as follows:
22 The positions added to the salary ordinance by Sectivn 1 above
23 presently exist and are ~~ii~a. However, absent ~he adoption of this
24 ordinance, said positions will be e~.iminated and the employment of the
25 persons fill.ing them wi1.~. be terminated as of October 1, 1988,
2fi pursuant to Butte Ca~nty 4rdinance No. 2&93, which was adopted for the
27 purpose of reoxganizing fhe But~e County Welfare Departmen~. Since
28 said reorganization cannot be accoznplished effective October 3., 1.988,

it is necessary to cant~nue ~he presently existing positions ~n effect
without interruption in order to insure the smooth continuing
operation of ~he Butte County Wel~are Department pending completian
and ~mpZementation of the reorganization of said department.
Subsect~an B. Be~ore the expiration of fi~teen (~5) days after
its passage, this ordinance shall be published once with the names of
the members of the Board of Supervisors voting for and against it in
the Chico ~n~erprise Record , a ner~rspaper publ.ished in the
County of Butte, State of California.
