AN ORD~NANCE EXTEND~NG FULL PEACE OFFICER POWERS
T~ RESIDENT DEPUTIES
The Board of Supervisars of the County o~ Butte, State
af CaZifornia, DO ORDATN, as follows:
Secfion. 7.. That Reserve Deputy Sheriffs who are rated
Leve1 Y Reserv~ Deputy Sheriffs may be empowered to have f~z~.l
peace of~icer powers and duties as provided in Penal Code Section
830.1.
Furth~r, pursuant to Penal. Code S~ction. 832.6 (A) (2} ,
~he Sherif~ may grant ~u11 peace officer powers and du~ies as
provided in Penal. Code Secf.~on 83a.iI) to a certain class of
Reserve Deputy Sheri~fs. To qualify for this appoin.tment, ~he
Res~zve Depu~y She~i~f must be assigned as a resident Deputy
Sheri~f and meet the minimum qualifications for the Califarnia
State Ca~nmission on Peace Officers Standards and Training
requirement ~or a Basa~c Certificate. Such an o~~icer shall. be
known as a "~esignated Reserve".
Section 2. This Ordinance shall be and it is hereby
declared to be in full force and effect from and after thirty
{30) days af~er the date of its passage, and be~ore the
expirat~.an o~ fa.fteen`t15) days a~~er its passage, this Ordznanee
shall be puhlished once with the names of the members o~ the
Board of Supervisors voting for and against it in ~he ~roville
Merc~ry Regi ster , a newspaper published in the County of
Butte, State of Ca~zfo~nia.
