AN ORDINANCE ADDING ARTICLE XVIS SECTION 2-Z40 TO THE
BUTT~ COUNTY CODE REGARD2NG QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE
POSITION OF COUNTY ACl'DIT4R
The Board o~ Supervisors o~ ~he County of Sutte ordains as
follows:
No pe~son shall herea~ter be elected or appointed to the
O~tice o~ County Auditor of the County o~ Butte unless;
(~) - LS~He posses a valid certificate iss~xed by the
Ca~.i~ornia State Board of Accaunta~cy under the provisians
of Chap~~r I, Division 3 of the Business and Profession:s
Code showing him/her to be, and permit him/her to practice
as, a Certi£ied Pub~ic Acco~ntant or as a Publ~.c
Accountant; or
(b}. [S~He posses a valid certificate or diploma af
graduation from a school of accountancy; or
(c) . [S] He has served as County Audi.tor or as Deputy
Co~znty Auditor a con~inuous per~.od o~ no~ less ~han thr~e
(3) years,
This Ordinance shall not apply to any person duly elected or
appain~ed as a County A~.ditor and actua~ly serving as such
o~ficer on the effective date of this Ordinance, and such person
shall. be deemed to be eligible to hold, and to be re-elected to,
said office, not withstanding the provisions of this Ordir~ance.
