AN pRDINANCE AMENDII~G CHAP`TERS 2b, BIIILD~NGS, 2bB,NTECHANZCAL GOD~, 27, ELECTRI-
CITY, & 28, PLUNIB~NG OF THE BU'TTE COUNTY CODE
The Board of Superv~,sors of the County o~ Butte ordains as fo~laws:
Section 1. That Sec~ion 26-I of t~e Butte County Gode is hereby
amended to read as follows:
Sectian 2b-l. Bui~.da.ng Cade - Adopted b}r reference.
In order ~o pravide aninimum standards ~or the propex- regula-
~ions of bu~.lding cons~ruction, the Uniform Building Code, 1988 ~dition, with
appendices Chapters 32, 35, 38, 49, 55, 57.and 70,and the Uni£orm Build~.ng Code
Standards, 1988 ~dition, prepared and published by the In~ernational Con~'erence
of Bui7.d~.ng Officials, excEp~ as specifically modified by ~he Califoxnia Health
and 5afety Cod.e, Divis~.an 13, Part ~.5 (State Hous~.ng Law}, a.s hereby adopted,.
incoz'porated, and made a part of ~his chapter by refex'ence without further
publicat~.on as though set farth at ~ength here~.n and is hereby declared to be
the build~.ng code £or the County and shall agply to and govern al1 building
construction ~.n the unincorpora~ed areas of the Caunty except as hereinafter
~ p~rovided.
Sec~ion 2. That Sub-Section {a) of Secta.on 26-6, V~iolations and
penalties, o~ the But~e County Code is hereby amended to read as fo~.laws:

Section 303(d) of ~he Uniform Mechanica~ Code is amended to
read as fol~ows:
Every m~chanical p~rmit issued under the provasions~o~ ~his
ordinance sha11 expire by limitation and bECOme null and void
after one (1) year ~rom the date of issuance of said perm~t;
pravided, however, i~ said mechanical pe~mit is issued in con-
junction with a build~ng permit, said mechanical pErmit wi1~
remain act~ve as long as ~he build~ng permit ~s active.
Section 343 af the Uniform Mechanica~ Code is amended by the
addition. of paragraph (f) as ~ol~ows:
(~) A mechanical permit may be transferred from the original
permit~ee to ano'~her gerson due to a cY~ange in o~anership or can-
~.ractor.
Sectian 304 0~ the Una.~orm Mechanical Code is amended to read
I as ~ollows:
Permit £ees sha17. be as specxfied in an ordinance or resalution
of fees adop~ed by the Butte County Board of Supexvisors.
Section 5. That Sub-Section (a) of Sectzon 268-5, Violations and
penalties, o~ the Butte County Code is hereby amended. to read as follows:
Section 2bB-5(a). It sha~.1 be ~nlawful for any person, firm
or corpo~ation to erect, construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, impro~e, re-

move, co~tvert, de~-olish, equa.p, use or maintain any mechanical sys~ems or equiF
ment, or cause or permS.t the same to be dane, in va.olat~.on o~ this chapter.
Section 6. '~hat Sub-Section (a) of 5ection 27-6, Viola~ions and
pena~.ties, of the Bu~~e County Cade is hereby amended to read as fallows:

Section 7. That Section 28-1 of the Butte Coun~y Code is hereby
amended to read as fo~lows:
Section 28-I. Plumb~ng CodE - Adopted hp reference.
Except as hereinafter pro~ided, ~~at certain pl~mbing code known
and designa~ed as the Un~form Plumbing Code, 1988 Edi~~on, toge~her with appen-
dices thereto, except appendix E and I, as prepared and publish~d by the In~er-
natianal Association of P1umb~ng and Mechanical O~ficials, except as specifz-
cally ~od~fied by the California Health and Safety Code, Division 13, Par~ 1.5
(Sta~e Housing Law), is hereby adop~ed, incorparated and made a part of this
ch.ap~er by reference.withou~ further publication as thaug~ set farth at length
herein az~d is hereby declared to be the p~.umbing code for the County and shall
apply to and govern a~l plumbing instal~.at~.ons in '~he unincox'parated areas af

No permits sha~~ be required for any build~ngs exemgted by
Section 301(b) o~ the Uniform Su~lding Code as amended by
Section 26-3.1 of Chap~er 26 of the Butte County Cade.
Every plumbing permit issued under this Code shall. expire
by limita~~.on and become nu1.~. and void a~ter one (I} year from
the date of issuance of said perm~.t; provided., however, ~f said
plumbing permit wzll remai.n active as long as ~he build~.~ng per-
mit is ac~ive.
Section 20.7. Cost o£ Permit and Transfers of Permits.
Permit fees sha11 be as speci£ied in an ordinanc~ or reso~.u-
tion adapted by ~he Butte County Board o~ Supervisors.
A plumbing germa.~ may be ~ransferred from t~e origina~. per-
mi~~ee to another person d~e ta a change ~.n ownersh~.p or con-
tractor.
Section 2Q.14 is hereby de~.eted.
Section I101(e) is hereby deleted.
Section 9. That Sub-Sectzon (a) o~ Section 2$-4, Va.o~a~ions and
penalties, o~ ~he But~e County Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
